The range of sounds, voices, mimicry...I would love to know what kind of voice box an African grey has...to be able to pronounce without lips...baffles me
"Humans have a larynx, and parrots have a syrinx. A parrot can produce sound with one or both sides of the syrinx, and it can produce two tones at the same frequency at the same time."
"Parrots have thick tongues, so they don't need lips to approximate human sounds. The tongue's thickness, and where a parrot positions it in his mouth, allows him to imitate human speech."
And they bond with 1 human, she has with me, I can tell because she lowers her head for a scratch when I offer a finger, next stage is to get her to climb on my finger, littler at a time
