When the video chat room was first introduced to NN, there were quite a few women who were in there fairly regularly. Unfortunately there were also a few selfish men who obviously imagined themselves as porn film directors and the ladies as paid actresses, insisting on rudely telling the ladies what to do. The ladies soon got sick of the rude idiots and stopped going to the room.

The overall trend in camming and porn is for women to make money doing it. I would imagine that might also come into play somewhere. One prominent camming site had 250K content creators just a couple years ago... now the latest numbers are around 750K, and that's just one site. If someone has a chance at making money at it, why would they want to do it for free? Just sayin'.

This is exactly what drove my wife away from any video chat. We never did it on this site but on some others the same thing happened. It’s slow, very few people on, even less if you want another couple to play with. we encountered a few people who would ruin the mood. Entitled people, demanding people. The block list admin urgh. No mod on at the time.

I thought I didn’t like camming after trying a couple of times here. Then I tried somewhere else and really enjoyed it. Now do it every few weeks.

I wouldn’t bother here again and so it’s not a shock to read that other women and couples feel the same. Xx

I know of at least a couple girls / women leaving amateur adult sites because of jerk men who make demands, and it's not just camming, it's even through PMs, at least from their complaints (no one here at this site).

So I'm sure that part of it is pretty standard issue for web chats. One wonders how much of it involves alcohol, which can bring out the best or worst in people.

My limited exposure to webcamming is to view some of the gals on the caming sites, as a guest, including the one attached to this one (I think it's called NewbieCams?), just to see what it was all about. Think the two main things are people being douchebags and that if you're going to do something and have a chance of doing it for free or getting paid to do it most people will choose a way to pick up the way that lets them get some extra gas money.

I don't know if the same risk applies to men, but I suspect that all women who do videochat will get recorded by the person on the other end of the line. I don't like video chat either, a while back I got talking to some guy in another forum and he asked if I wanted to video chat, and he seemed cool so I said why not. One thing led to another and we did some stuff etc etc. I found out a few days later he had recorded it all and was posting and sharing it between other users etc. I thought after that I don't want to see videos of me floating around forever online so that was the end of VC for me.
