The vet called my girlfriend today to check on Lando's condition. Of course, she had to inform him that he had prolapsed again and had to be euthanized. The vet immediately insinuated that my girlfriend had done something to cause the prolapse. What?! She fed the poor puppy....one cup of food as per the vets instructions. He wasn't subjected to any strenuous exercise; we walked him on a leash the entire time he was home. It's bad enough that they return an obviously malnourished puppy to us, but to then imply that his brief time outside of the vets office caused his death.....BULLSHIT! He's lucky....she waited until tonight to tell me about this call. Had I known earlier in the day, I would have driven to the animal hospital and would probably be in jail right now for assault and/or attempted murder. As it is, I WILL get this worthless cocksuckers medical licence revoked..... | ||||

My poor little pup Lando was home not even 36 hours and had a prolapse again. My girlfriend took him to the emergency vet clinic and after examining him, the vet said the corrective surgeries would have never been successful....there was just too much tissue damage from the original injury. How do you chose between trying to save an animal or admitting that you have done all that is possible and the only option is to have him put to sleep to avoid further injury and pain? Playing God was never part of the plan, I just wanted him to be a happy, playful puppy with a home. Sadly, that was not meant to be. It's bad enough I had to tell the vet over the phone from work to put him to sleep, worse that I never even got to scratch his ears one last time and tell him he was loved. I guess some pets are destined to just pop in and out of your life, as if to remind you to cherish the ones that hang around. In all, I suppose this was a better scenario. He left this world being held by his mom, instead of dying alone in a deserted lot or on the side of a road. It still doesn't ease the pain of losing a pet you tried so hard to save.....but it will have to do...... | ||||

First of all.....NN, PLEASE move the fuckin' "delete" icon away from the "edit" icon and save me the trouble of redoing a blog I wanted to edit, not delete! All I wanted to do was resize the damn picture, FFS.... Ok....after 3 weeks at the vet, Lando the puppy got to come home today. Poor kid went in weighing 37 lbs and left the vet at a skinny 25 lbs. It took a lot of self control not to choke the snarky veterinarian while he went over the medical charts with us. Anyhow.....me and my buddy posing for the camera....  Lando without my mug in the way....  Weirdness.....had my Bronco for 5 years now and rarely see others on the road. Now suddenly, they're everywhere. What's worse, saw two today that look exactly like mine..... Doppleganger #1, in the parking lot behind our McDonalds....  Kind of freaky driving my truck by what looks like....my truck! Doppleganger #2, Wal Mart parking lot.....  At least now I know where I can find spare parts.....MUAHAHAHAHAHA! To everyone that had commented on the original blog....sorry y'all  | ||||

Pretty good night....had a fun joke and bullshit call with Tux on the drive to my girlfriends house, then discovered that the little shithole town my girlfriend lives in has an excellent Mexican restaurant! Shrimp quesadillas.....om nom nom! Back to her house for a bit of "private" time, play with the dogs for a bit, then headed home around 1:30am. However....it seems that my hounds decided to have a party while I was gone.....  I can just hear them....."Honest daddy, the couch attacked us! It was self defense!" I love how Storm is yawning, as if she denies having any part in the chaos. Time to go shopping the second hand stores for another sofa..... | ||||

The new pup came home yesterday afternoon and was enjoying playing with my girlfriends other 4 dogs. Sadly, his rectum prolapsed again this morning so he's back at the vet for more surgery. The vet says there is one other procedure they can try if this one doesn't succeed....and if that fails, he can't be saved. It's so frustrating to think you have saved an animal only to find out they may still die....and this time, we have to make that decision. | ||||
