Ow, usually it was just because I was changing a gear set in the rear axle...except the one time that I actually snapped an axle shaft and one of the tubes
I've broken 2 axles on separate occasions, and a ring gear, plus have had to clean up after some shattered ring and pinions. One was out of a 9" Ford, blew gear oil all over the lane for 200' or so
)
Nothing like being elbows deep in grease and oil from a vehicle and upper balls or nose itch
