Hi, my name is George and I'm a NewbieNudaholic. It's been 87 days since I looked at an amateur nude on NN, and I'm working on day 88. I left NN back in June of this year (as George061) because of what I perceived as heavy-handed encroachment and censorship by NN mgmt and mods. Turns out, NewbieNudes management and moderators are pretty reasonable compared to other websites.

I spent the last three months trying to find a better NewbieNudes. What I found are a lot of websites that are really pretty awful compared to NN. Some of the sites I looked at were:

· AdultFriendFinder.com
· FUBAR.com
· PostYourGirls.com
· SubmitYourEx.com
· AmateurAlbum.com

In short, none of these sites offers the range of activities and member-to-member communication you'll find at NN. There just isn't another website that offers all the things you find here. When you factor in pricing, the differences really get glaring.

I won't waste your time on PostYourGirls, SubmitYourEx or AmateurAlbum, other than to say they are nothing more than thinly-veiled porn sites. You can upload and view pics and vids - that's it. Even hardcore porn addicts have to do something else sometimes!

That leaves DelphiForums, AdultFriendFinder and FUBAR as the competition. Here's a quick comparison of functionality:

In Summary

DelphiForums isn't really a competitor to NN; they're a big, broad-spectrum on-line forum and chat room service. They do it really well and their message board functionality is terrific. It's easy to use without knowing HTML, but if you do, they'll let you use it. Their image handling in the forums is also very good. The problem with DelphiForums is that they're afraid of lawsuits. As a result, you're likely to get censored in the forums or even banned from the site for saying the wrong thing. This was why I left NN a while back - I thought the mods were getting awfully big-brotherish and I got riled. DelphiForums is an order of magnitude worse on this point. I've had several posts deleted from the boards, and I really am pretty milquetoasty in the forums. As you probably know, I'm a music freak, so I spent most of my time in the music forums. For being as big as they say they are, there sure wasn't anyone visiting those forums. I think DelphiForums gets a "D" for user experience.

AdultFriendFinder isn't really a competitor in terms of their business model. What they're about is providing a vehicle for people to hook-up. You have to pay for that though; you can't really do anything other than create a profile for yourself without paying. you want to send a message to someone? There's a fee for that. You want to look at a member's photos? There's a fee for that. You want to broadcast a message to a group of people (troll for hook-ups)? There's a fee for that. The impression I was left with was that this might be a decent site if your objective was to find a sex partner without paying a hooker - you just pay these guys instead. I think AFF gets a "C" for user experience.

FUBAR isn't really an NN competitor either. What they're about is providing a video arcade / nightclub environment online. You can do lots of different things, from buying "drinks" for others to having a group or private conversation to playing video or RPG games with others, just like in a club. It's glitzy and noisey, just like a club. Like AdultFriendFinder, everything you do costs you something. The impression I was left with was that this is probably fun for someone 18 - 25, but not if you're over 30. I think FUBAR gets a "C+" for user experience.

So the short version of this review is: There really isn't anyone on the web who does what NewbieNudes does. Good job you guys!

I'm sorry I was such a snit about the forum censorship thing. You were right of course - you can't have people berating others in the forum.

My advice to fellow members? Stick with NN - they do a pretty good job here. If you have the means, upgrade to premium and chince a little on your Christmas shopping.
