In the darkest of winter, it seems a distant memory about bright warm sunshine.
Now, as this has has been going on for a while, a powerful medical group say we need now to take vit D pills to make up.
Would you do that ?

Raven if a doctor says you are not getting enough vitamins naturally from sunlight and warmth then there is nothing wrong with taking a vitamin supplement.

If I lived somewhere with little sun then yes, I would. I remember reading in my science books in school about people with rickets due to very low vitamin D. It must be important is docs are recommending it.
