XXXEyeCandy's blog post - On This, International Women's Day......

Wednesday, March 9, 2016, 12:56:36 AM
Take this quiz to find out how many laws you broke throughout the world. And be enlightened.

http://matchinternational.org/how-many-laws-did-you-break-today.

I'm thankful I live where I do. Where I have freedom so many other women in this world don't. Where I can live without persecution or fear. In a city which today hosted a seminar for teenaged girls to educate them on fending for themselves financially in the event they ever become victims of abuse.

Progressive.

Great topic EC.

I took the quiz and were I a woman, I would have broken 11 laws. I expect that the penalty would not be some trivial $50 fine or a good behaviour bond.

Clearly the inequality isn't confined to the laws of some countries. In my view, to see the issue of gender equality, in our own backyards, start with the stats. These show that there are ongoing deep seated inequalities that are based on gender. Different average salaries isn't about career choices, it's about opportunities. We each may know a woman who have risen to the higher branches of the corporate tree, but they remain an exception.

The hardest challenge for me is objectively ensuring my own behaviour and beliefs are based on principles of individual liberty and equal opportunity. Do unto others - irrespective of gender (or religion or sexual or political preference for that matter).

A great post for a struggle we must all contribute to.

Happy International Women's Day everyone.

Imagine what it would be like if we had Sharia law! Please, if that is what you want move where it is in effect, please do not try to change our laws!
