I am the Cheshire Cat, bit weird looking, bit weird acting, with a macabre side, I appear, then I disappear. I need to be under adult supervision at all time. I cannnot be left to my own devices.

Thursday, March 28, 2013, 11:28:14 PM- Blog 2 for the day
Usually don't do two funny sign things in a day but I saw both of these and had to share. A good friend was giving me old school crap this morning about my equality avatar. But he knows how I feel and I know he couldn't pass the chance to give me shit. When I saw this I about died laughing. I just found this one a great idea next time I have to go to the DMV.

Thursday, March 28, 2013, 12:46:22 AM- End of era's
Today they ended the toll takers at the Golden Gate Bridge toll booths. Going to electronic toll taking. While I understand the efficiency gains (well that is the claim), I will miss toll takers I always liked toll booths. As a kid going thru Chicago on the Tri State Tollway I was amazed. The booths, the baskets, the Oasis'. As an "adult" I loved tossing the coins at the toll basket (I was in my late 20's to mid 30's ok). But it was nice to know a human was in one of those booths if you needed to ask a question. I have been on toll roads and bridges all over this country since. Never had a bad experience with a toll taker. First time I was on the total electronic toll road was the 70 bypass (I-270 I think it is officially) around east of Denver. Oh cool. No need to stop a couple of times like with the booths. They just shot your plate and send you a bill. The bill was about $20. Not bad but higher than the locals since I don't have a transponder for that area. I understand why they change more - to cover the cost of finding my plate and sending out the bill. But it still bothers me. I know I could have taken 70 thru Denver (NOT!). I am sure the bridge authority out here will do the same thing with differing pricing. But on the bridge setup out here you have no choice like one would have in Denver. This is technology. Sometimes I think back and wish we still had the slower times. Burma Shave used to have signs on the two lane road that traverse this country. A series of signs with a few words on each that ended with the last sign saying Burma Shave. The last one of those I saw was a faded relict on the Dixie Highway somewhere in the deep south. Kind of says everything about the ending of each era. "Super Highways"....."Super Speeds"...."People Have No"...."Time To Read"........."Burma Shave"

Which means Monday is behind us but you still can't see Friday from here... Sorry about the Hendrix Fire video not working. Someone pulled it from Youtube after I posted it. Now three thing I try not to say 1. Never say never. 2. Never say you hit bottom 3. Never say it can't get any worse You say any of these and those bastards Life and Fate will get together to make you regret it. How I felt this morning. I was woke at 5:52AM by a call from a friend in a time zone three hours ahead of me. The man expected witty, lively banter.

After I posted my status this morning "Good Morning VietNam" I had to post this. Especially for those of who have never seen the movie. The other option was "Message in a Bottle" which Ali_Dee caused to be stuck again in my head. Adrian Cronauer is much funnier.

Still on my quest for 5,000 views. If you hit it, take a screenshot so I know. But now a couple Jimi Hendrix songs from Monterey Pop 1967. A few more in the morning. I will get over 5,000 no matter what! LOL A song that was covered by lord know how many bands in 1966 or so. But once I heard Jimi I knew this was the one people would remember. (anyone outside of me know who the Blues Magoos were?) A song of his you love or hate. Personally I could without the Brian Jones intro. But I love the song Three more or so songs in the morning.
