We met with the contractor yesterday. He's supposed to have a quote to us Monday and start work the next week. Poohbare has to email the paint color info to him today that's the last loose end on that matter. I picked up a utility sink yesterday and we'll get that installed today. Pooh said I could do the plumbing and he'll just supervise. Personally, I think he just wants to see if my pants ride low enough to show "plumber's crack." I, however, plan to "borrow" one of his long flannel shirts.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, I finished icing his birthday cake this morning. He says there's no such thing as too much frosting. I made a triple batch of buttercream and used all but the last cup (it wouldn't fit!) on the cake just to prove him wrong. HA!

I woke up around 2 a.m. too excited to sleep. Now, two hours later, I find myself staring at the clock, willing it to move along faster toward 9:30. I want those keys! Got stuff to do, man!

We're hoping to open in a very short six weeks. If I could get Mr. Indecisive to cooperate, I could get the rest of the print materials ordered. In the interim, I've been busy framing newspapers from the early 1800s, Confederate bonds, and a buncha other historical documents. It's a bit unnerving handling such old papers and I'm paranoid they'll be damaged due to some misstep on my part. I hadn't told Poohbare I was doing this and surprised him with the finished results last night. It was great seeing the smile on his face as he looked them over!

Sunday is Poohbare's birthday and I got him the popcorn machine he wanted for the shop. The thing weighs a ton and I haven't quite figured out how I'm gonna get wrapping paper on it... especially since Herbie likes to "help".

Ahhhh a busy day planned catching up on episodes of "Burning Love" and reading "Best of Craigslist". Oh, and nursing sore muscles. Goodness, I sure am feeling old and creaky. ew

In other news, we pick up the keys to the retail space on Friday. All sorts of supplies are in transit and contractors are all lined up. YAY!

Ow!

Starry has inspired me. I called Curves a couple minutes ago and am joining up again. Time to get my body back.

It took forever to get all the coats of clear gloss on the milk cans, but I think they are finally finished.
