Laid-back, easy going guy until my passions are aroused. I've been here 3 other times... I keep trying to get it right, I guess. lol

If the amount of work being done were a song, it would be called: The Sounds of Silence.

It's been raining all day today (1.25 inches as of noon) and I didn't expect any action today, but about a half an hour ago I was surprised to see two company trucks pull up out front. In about 5 minutes, they loaded up the pipe lying on the grass and then drove off. WTH, man? The company that is contracting the work is from another town, so I went to their website and left them a message, politely asking what the fuck is going on. I'll be surprised if I hear back from them in less than a week. ???

No rain today and plenty expected tomorrow. No action taken today, though. I may plant some flowers on the big mound of dirt in the front yard... it doesn't look like it's going anywhere any time soon.

No workers or trucks at all today. It has been misting rain since midnight. We can't have these delicate flowers wilting under these conditions, can we?

Just before 9am a company truck showed up out front. Almost 6 hours later, the truck is still sitting there, but there has been no activity and no sign of anyone. These people must be getting paid by the hour.

The guy who mows the grass where I live showed up today after about a 4 week hiatus and mowed grass that didn't need mowing. He also trimmed around all of the holes and the large mound of dirt. It must be really hard to scrape up yard work after it has frosted and the grass quits growing.

Work wasn't finished Friday. There was a deluge of rain hit about the time I left for work. Since they didn't work any overtime on Saturday and they don't work Sundays, perhaps we will have the conclusion to our little drama come Monday. Or not.

When I woke up today, I took a peek out of my window to see what progress our intrepid workers had achieved. Everything was finished except for one massive hole at the end of the sidewalk, where you walk from your front door to pick up your mail. The peek was early this morning. As of 1:30pm this afternoon, nothing has been done further. To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. The workers are down the street doing something and I'll be surprised if they get back here to finish up today. Oh, did I mention that heavy rain is moving this way? Sad

9:00am to 3:00pm (except for an hour long lunch) the crew has been working and is still going as of this blog. Maybe it's because the weather is nice today (upper 70's with sunshine). Maybe because the weather is supposed to turn tomorrow (rain, with temp.'s dropping into the 50's). Maybe a supervisor showed up to light a fire under everyone's keester. I am pleasantly surprised and if I didn't have to go to work today I'd offer to buy them a round of drinks if they finish today. A guy can dream, can't he? ~

At 1:45pm, almost a day and a half later, some workers showed up. They unloaded a bunch of pipe in the front yard, then left. At this rate it might be Thanksgiving before the job is finished. ~
