Ack. So glad Monday is history. It was just one of those days that makes you want to hide under the bed until it is over. First thing in the morning: Flat tire in the driveway. I must have picked up a rather large nail on Friday as my right rear tire was flat as a pancake. Of course my husband had already left for work and I was running late to get my son across town for school. I called my mom and she came and got us - Mommy to the rescue!!! and we made it right before the bell rang. Hubby had come home in the meantime and filled the tire up so I cold take it to the service station for repair. If it wouldn't hold air I would have to call AAA to come change it to the spare. My mom and I go work out since we were already out and about and it seemed that every machine I wanted to use was used previously by that really really sweaty person one sees at the gym; the one who is working so hard and sweating so profusely that it is literally running off them in buckets. Of course they carry a towel, but they never swab themselves down nor the machines after use. It was disgusting. The dude would leave a puddle - yes a puddle of sweat on the weight machines after he was on them. I don't know if he was just trying to be an attention whore: "Look at me, see how hard I am working! I am sweating and grunting and groaning..." or if he was just that thoughtless. It was nasty. So I pretty much ditched my regular workout and prayed the cleaning staff had plenty of disinfectant. It was grooooosssss!! Then we went to Starbucks. I was really wanting a pumpkin spice latte so we go thru the drivethru and order. I repeat the order 3 times and when I roll up to the window and pay and we get our drinks and split, about halfway out of the parking lot I take a sip. WRONG COFFEE. JHC. They fucked up my order...Meh. I drank it though, dammit. I was not about to go back there and bitch about it, I didn't have time. Had to get home so I could call AAA to come change my tire as I figured it wouldn't have held any air. I got home and found the tire had kept enough air to get me to the nearest service station, so I drove very carefully over to it. There I spent a good 15 minutes trying to explain to the little old Vietnamese lady what exactly I needed. She spoke not a lick of English but yes, no, okay and credit card. I resorted to what seemed like a cross between charades and pictionary to get her to understand what I needed. It was ridiculous. All I could think of was where was the hidden cameras? Is Ashton Kutcher gonna jump out of that oil drum and shout "Dude! You are SO punked!!!" It was one of those feelings lol. Finally she got it and yelled something to someone in the back room and a rather surly looking young man came out and looked at my tire. All he said to me was "$10" I said "ok" and handed him my keys. He futzed around and did whatever to it while the little old lady yelled at him in Vietnamese the whole time. She took turns between yelling at the grandson (I can only assume it was like that) and the person on the cordless phone she had glued to her ear. I should have brought earplugs, jeeeeez. He finished, I paid my $10 and left. I got back home to discover one of the cats had barfed all over the place. Puddles of kitty spew everywhere. Hallway, living room and kitchen. I found the culprit sitting in the midst of my son's lego city that he had set up on the living room floor. Turbo was wedged between the lego gas station and the lego freeway, looking like a giant catzilla destroying a plastic Tokyo. There were little lego people and cars scattered all over the place and he would bat the little lego citizens around with his paws. I knew my kid was going to be so upset when he got home. I ate some lunch (and promptly spilled it all over myself) which required a wardrobe change afterwards. Bummer. And did some cleaning and stuff. We were going out to dinner with friends that evening, an early dinner so that was pretty much the one bright spot to the day. Between the 4 of us we found that all but 1 had also had a shite day, so we laughed about it and had a nice time. So that was my Monday. I am so happy it's Tuesday now lol. Puurrs to all, Currently listening to: The hum of my hard drive |
