mardi gras was big fun loved it my almost 8 years there Tuesday is fat Tuesday the day before the start of lent the parades thru out the area start 2 weeks before some times 2 in a day or nite somewhat like a thanksgiving parade or Christmas 1 but with Throws often including doubloons, beads, cups, homemade trinkets, toys and more here is a bit a taste of mardi gras n new Orleans ; I've been all over the world. I love New York, I love Paris, San Francisco, so many places. But there's no place like New Orleans. It's got the best food. It's got the best music. It's got the best people. It's got the most fun stuff to do. Harry Connick, Jr. I spent so many summers and New Years and fun times in New Orleans. It was always a place where I felt I could go and actually let go and enjoy the spirit of something. Sandra Bullock In America, there might be better gastronomic destinations than New Orleans, but there is no place more uniquely wonderful. Anthony Bourdain My food is Louisiana, New Orleans-based, well-seasoned, rustic. I think it's pretty unique because of my background being influenced by my mom, Portuguese and French Canadian. There's a lot going on there. You know, for 300 years it's been kind of the same. There are restaurants in New Orleans that the menu hasn't changed in 125 years, so how is one going to change or evolve the food? Emeril Lagasse In America, I would say New York and New Orleans are the two most interesting food towns. In New Orleans, they don't have a bad deli. There's no mediocrity accepted. Mario Batali I've lived in N.Y. and L.A. for many years, but I still gravitate to New Orleans - it's so unique and so European. There's nothing else like it in the country. It has its own music, its own food, its own style and its own way of life. Bryan Batt New Orleans, more than many places I know, actually tangibly lives its culture. It's not just a residual of life; it's a part of life. Music is at every major milestone of our life: birth, marriage, death. It's our culture. Wendell Pierce You should celebrate the end of a love affair as they celebrate death in New Orleans, with songs, laughter, dancing and a lot of wine. Francoise Sagan live love n laugh w passion |
