I partnered with three much younger guys to buy a bar. Not just any bar but the old sports bar we all loved and missed known to us as The Triple Play Saloon. The old sign is in the basement and will go up early next week but we will add "Uncle milty's" to it. The original owner, Uncle Milty as we all knew him, died a few years back and the place became a pizza joint and not a very good one as evidenced by it's demise. I'm 51% owner and plan to keep close tabs on the place, hell with all my drinkin buddies i will have enough eyes on the place and I'll pick up their tabs by repayment.

It's still early enough in the year to get a bar league flag football team going and next year mens and ladies softball teams up and running. I know several guys and gals that want to have golf outings and a bunch of fishermen and hunters that we will cater to and have a game dinner or two and maybe if all goes as planned a fall Triple Play Saloon customer appreciation picnic! On the house!

We will serve simple bar food at first. Hot dogs,hamburgers, fries and salads of different kinds for the veggie lovers and move on when we can afford a real chef or chefette. in the meantime it's the other guys responsibility to do the cooking.

SHHHHHH we will be open before legal hours, including food, for the cops, fire people,nurses hospital workers,power plant workers and fishermen that Uncle Milty always took care of... a modern day speak easy so to say. I'm sure the word will spread fast as I know a few of the old early regulars.

It is in a good location. Older quiet neighborhood with well kept homes,steps from the harbor, original 20's bar and not in bad shape just the men's and ladies rooms need to be torn out and redone. Although we are looking to make a fortune we just want to enjoy it in the glory we knew it to be.

So, Uncle Milty, if your lookin down i hope we make you proud!

To be out on the boat. 83F maybe 3Ft seas. The fish are biting, Verizon is still 4G and I have the budettes with me, cold beer, water and sandwiches. I had to buy them a sandwich each otherwise they'd be looking at me like I'm a pork chop! Maybe a little claming as the tide goes out as my wife wants to make chowder this weekend.

Made very nice by my lovely wife,daughters and grandchildren. Yesterday i was taken to see "a gentleman's guide to love and murder" on Broadway, drinks and dinner in the city and a great night at home. Today it's all family. They will have a BBQ for me in a few hours. T-bones, roasted corn on the cob and other veggies, baked potatoes, salad and ice cold beer. Granted i have to open my own raw clams but that's fine.

My grandson and i will play catch for a while and there will be plenty of pictures i'm sure.

It's a shame my dad can't be here but i know in spirit he is. He will be 96 in September.
