Monday, December 24, 2007, 3:00:32 AM- Getting ready....
Hey everyone, have not been online for a couple of days, been real busy trying to prepare for Christmas. Heres one of my ol time favorite Christmas songs I’d like to share with you.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0G77i5gvAg&feature=related

It’s not a very popular one, in fact you may never heard of it. It was written by Greg Lake from ELP (Emerson, Lake and Palmer for you younger NN’ers) years ago and its called I Believe in Father Christmas.

I’ll be making the Christmas Eve dinner. Tomorrow morning I’ll be making the holiday desserts, which will consist of Chocolate Pecan Pie and also Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheese cake. I’ve made the Chocolate Pecan Pie before which is real good but never tried this recipe for the cheese cake, hope it comes out as good as it sounds. I’m a big chocolate peanut butter fan so I’m sure it should come out half way decent, we’ll see.

Anyway, I wanted to take a moment and wish all of you a Merry Christmas. There are some here that I have grown to know and so glad I’ve had the chance to get to know some of you and also would like to say thank you. Thank you for sharing you’re thoughts and comments. Thank you for making me smile and laugh at times. A big thank you to all the beautiful woman here for sharing your lovely selves with us men here. I can only imagine the BS you must experience at times but continue to stay here for your friends. I’m hoping the good out weighs the bad for you here and I admire and respect everyone one of you. You are the heavenly angels of NN to me and I’m so glad you’re here.

Merry Christmas all.

Thursday, December 20, 2007, 3:43:48 PM- Take care of yourselves!
Done with my morning treadmill walk/run. I had this treadmill for about 12 years and for the most part, I only used it to hang my clothes on. About a year ago I learned that I have high cholesterol and high blood pressure. It’s not too high, but its borderline of being high. Yeah, it sucks getting old ppl. Since then I’ve hit the treadmill, usually five days out of the week. As I’ve aged I learned that we must take care of our bodies and minds too. I know, you young pups of NN are probably saying, Pffft, whatever.

Just a short story here. One of my coworkers, (I’ll call him Ron) who later on became my manager suffered a stroke. He was only about 5 years older than me and was in fairly good shape from what I could tell. He did survive the stroke but the sad part was he lost most of his memory. He barely remembered his wife and kids. Along with this, he lost all his knowledge and technical skills of his work. Just to give you an idea, it takes years for someone to become knowledgeable of our software products. Ron was a veteran of our company, about 15 years and he lost all of his knowledge and skills. Unfortunately it was a bad time for our company and ppl were cut left and right and eventually Ron was let go too.

As time past I found out Ron was doing ok, he is working again but not in the software field. I also found out Ron was suffering from extremely high blood pressure and his cholesterol was through the roof, which most likely was a good part of the cause related to his stroke.

I did not mean to get off the path here but wanted to share that sad story with you. Since I’ve found out I was on my way to high blood pressure/cholesterol, I’ve been walking/running on my treadmill since and trying to watch what I eat...and I mean trying regarding the eating part sad but it has helped. I refuse to control it w/ meds at this point but may have to in the future, we'll see.

What I’m getting at is TAKE CARE OF YOURSELVES my NN compodrays. Mick would like to continue reading you’re blogs for a long time and continue perving the lovely ladies of NN wink

Hey Santa baby, Mickey needs a new treadmill, he’s been a good boy tongue

Wednesday, December 19, 2007, 4:19:03 PM- A twisted Christmas?
I did a little bit of Christmas shopping last night and picked up a few stocking stuffer DVDs. One of my wife’s favorites, The Devil Wears Prada. My stepdaughter’s favorite, The Family Stone and one for my Stepson, Green Day, live. I could not help but get myself a few including Dave Matthews Band Live at Piedmont Park which was recorded practically in my backyard. I thought for some laughs and being in the Christmas spirit I bought Twisted Sisters, A Twisted Christmas. I used to see these guys at Hammerheads, which was a nightclub in NY going back about 20 years, shit I'm old.

Anyway, I’ll leave you with one of these Christmas gems redone Heavy Metal style. The woman in this vid kinda reminds me of my Ex-wife especially towards the end, after she’s had a few drinks tongue

Sunday, December 2, 2007, 4:21:16 AM- Money changes ever thing.
MONEY! I find it interesting what money can do to people, what you can achieve with it. How it seems to categorize people and the harm it can bring. It’s nice to think if you had loads of it, you’d not change, but would you? Really? Money seems to show our issues and vulnerabilities because it touches on almost all aspects of life. It reveals deep parts of our needs, fears and desires. How it can actual drive an ugly wedge between our relationships.
My sister married a rich guy and she’s changed. I miss my old sister, the cool, down to earth , funny sister I once had. Maybe that’s why she’s currently having marriage problems, I don’t know. I do know my brother in-law thinks he’s above many people. You can just see it in his eyes, the way he looks at you. Kind of like he’s looking down at you and he doesn’t even have to say a word or though he’s says a lot of condescending things that just piss me off. It’s hard to describe the way I feel about my sister’s problem marriage. In a way, I almost felt glad when my Mom told me, as much as I hate to admit it. I feel like a shit now but I cannot help these feelings. I don’t want to see my sister unhappy or see her marriage fail. I guess its my belief of how she has changed, hoping maybe she’ll realize how she’s changed and just start acting like the sister I remember, the one I grew up with, the big sister I love.

Tuesday, November 27, 2007, 9:43:48 PM- Ever been screwed by an insurance company???
I’ve had several bad experiences w/ insurance companies. It basically comes down to them weaseling out of paying a claim either medical, auto or homeowners. Their such weasels. I just had this unbelievable experience for a change. The main stone in my wife’s wedding ring had a crack in it. Holy shit, I paid thousands for this diamond and thought we were screwed. I had her ring insured and contacted the insurance company and guess what??? I was able to take it to the jeweler and they replace the stone at no charge! I just had to pay my 250 deductible. Not bad considering the stone was appraised for 5500.

For once, insurance has actually paid off! I can’t believe it, I just had to tell everyone.

Of course my wife talked me into upgrading her stone to a bit larger one but what the hell, I just had to pay the difference for the extra amount from the original stone I paid for. I may just change my attitude towards insurance companies, well at least this one.

Wednesday, November 21, 2007, 2:05:56 PM- Getting ready for Thanksgiving

Anybody ever fry a turkey? I have been doing it since I moved down south and I’ll tell ya, it comes out great each time as well as only taking about 35 five minutes or so (3 minutes per pound). A lot people think its dangerous and it can be, if you do it incorrectly. If you do it the correct way, it’s not dangerous at all.

Heres the incorrect way of doing it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NA71ZEmOQko

And heres the correct way to do it as displayed by my friend from the Food Network, Alton Brown. Granted his method of the lowering system is a bit over the top, but he knows what he’s doing:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9mq29BaLLk

Going to make a white chocolate pumpkin cheesecake later for tomorrow. I made this one time before and it came out awesome.

I just took the cornbread out of the oven, it smells like Thanksgiving already. I’ll be using this for the cornbread stuffing for tomorrow. Happy Thanksgiving everyone and remember one thing before you’re about to sit down and fill yourself with turkey...."Turkey’s eat their own waste”...Hehe. Enjoy!

Wednesday, November 21, 2007, 12:36:08 AM- The Difference Between Women And Men
How true are these? A lot of them sound familiar?

1.NAMES:
If Laurie, Linda, Elizabeth and Barbara go out for lunch, they will call each other Laurie, Linda, Elizabeth and Barbara.

If Mark, Chris, Eric and Tom go out, they will affectionately refer to each other as Fat Boy, Godzilla, Peanut-Head and Scrappy.

2.EATING OUT:
When the bill arrives, Mark, Chris, Eric and Tom will each throw in a $20 , even though it's only for $32.50. None of them will have anything smaller and none will actually admit they want change back.

When the women get their bill, out come the pocket calculators.

3.MONEY:
A man will pay $2 for a $1 item he needs.
A woman will pay $1 for a $2 item that she doesn't need, but it's on sale.

4.BATHROOMS:
A man has five items in his bathroom: a toothbrush, shaving cream, razor, a bar of soap, and a towel from the Marriott.

The average number of items in the typical woman's bathroom is 337. A man would not be able to identify most of these items.

5.ARGUMENTS:
A woman has the last word in any argument.

Anything a man says after that... is the beginning of a new argument.

6.CATS:
Women love cats.
Men say they love cats, but when women aren't looking, men kick cats.

7.FUTURE:
A woman worries about the future until she gets a husband.
A man never worries about the future until he gets a wife.

8.SUCCESS:

A successful man is one who makes more money than his wife can spend.
A successful woman is one who can find such a man.

9.MARRIAGE:
A woman marries a man expecting he will change, but he doesn't.
A man marries a woman expecting that she won't change , and she does.

10.DRESSING UP:
A woman will dress up to go shopping, water the plants, empty the garbage, answer the phone, read a book, and get the mail.
A man will dress up for weddings and funerals.

11.NATURAL:
Men wake up as good-looking as they went to bed.
Women somehow deteriorate during the night.

12.OFFSPRING:
Ah, children. A woman knows all about her children. She knows about dentist appointments and romances, best friends, favorite foods, secret fears and hopes and dreams.
A man is vaguely aware of some short people living in the house.

13.THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Any married man should forget his mistakes. There's no use in two people remembering the same thing.

AND FINALLY....
A couple drove down a country road for several miles, not saying a word. An earlier discussion had led to an argument and neither of them wanted to concede their position.
As they passed a barnyard of mules, jack asses, and pigs, the husband asked sarcastically,
"Relatives of yours?"
"Yep," the wife replied, "in-laws."

.....Hehe tongue

Monday, November 19, 2007, 2:29:34 PM- Happy Hump Day!
Sure why not? Maybe some of us may have to work Thursday and Friday even though Thanksgiving is this Thursday but for those that don’t, including myself, it actually feels like Wednesday. So grab someone or something and hump it.

Happy hump day my friends....Hehe.
