the student protests against tuition hikes are continuing.
there has been a parade of students pass by, beating on
pots and pans, three times this evening. not a lot of people,
but the noise is enough to bring folks to their windows to
watch.

there is a small degree of legitimacy to their protests.
but they have over-hyped it to a degree that is unacceptable.

these students have been hypnotized by television trance to
such a degree that they actually think that the police have
infinite resources and that they are indeed, the only show
in town, and that the police should pay attention to them
and nobody else.

this knot puzzle of civic awareness is impossible to resolve.

i can only imagine that the toll on the police morale is
extremely difficult and without precedent.

i am not sure, but i think that our landlord has done something
about the idiot guitar god neighbour. he has done so before,
because it is hard to rent out the apartments on this side of
the building because of the psychotic behaviour of the guitar
god imbecile.

all afternoon, the idiot neighbour set up a drum machine to
play random loud beats right against the wall.

now he is playing some kind of continuous loop of loud,
very low frequency rumbling. it is not music. just low
grumbling, rumbling noise. he has done this many times
before if someone has been complaining about his guitar
playing.

this guy is so nasty and ugly that he wants to spoil
our peace and quiet any way that he can.

i finished my volunteer chores at the street mission
around 2:30 this afternoon and walked home with an
eagerness to go play drums in the park with all the
others. at the tamtam we sometimes have more than
60 drummers playing on the same groove.

but then i heard on the radio that the university
students who are protesting the recent plans to hike
the tuition fees by 75% over the next three years,
are also over at the big monument in the park where
we play. immediately i realized that i would not be
going over there today.

the quebec government has recently passed very strict
laws in an attempt to control the 3-month long strike by
the students. there have been molotov cocktails, rocks
through windows, breaking windows on city buses, attacks
against the police, all kinds of serious mayhem. the
police have responded with tear gas and sound grenades,
etc. it has been about 26 continuous days and nights of
violent demonstrations. there have been hundreds of
arrests just in the past week.

this evening i went for an hour long walk on the mountain,
and i saw many, many young people carrying cases of beer
into the park. i saw at least four bonfires burning with
loud aggressive young people around. it is going to be
a very ugly night on the mountain. i hope that they do
not burn it down. i walked alongside some firefighters
who extinguished one of the bigger fires.

the quebec government has not shown good judgement in
the education department. universities here are governed
by elitist, superwealthy, aloof administrators who do
not listen to the students. they have brought this
situation upon themselves by being so disengaged and
remote from the students. they really cannot expect the
students to accept this sudden change without warning.

but now, the atmosphere is set for all-out riots, having
attracted the participation of young people who are not
involved in university at all. this is not civil dis-
obedience. this is total nihilism. the breakdown of
authority is inevitable for the next while here. it
is going to get much uglier i am afraid.

i want nothing to do with it.

the idiot guitar god decided to give us a concert
last night on his bass. pathetic little shit, he is.

have i ever mentioned before how much i detest wealthy
glamour people? perhaps i have. it is a delayed reaction
to all the selfish, needy, pathetic, useless glamour
people that i used to have as massage clients. nowadays
that i spend all my time working with poor people i
find that i have less and less tolerance.

this guy has a recording studio in his apartment. when
he plays inside the studio we can hear him, but it is
not too much. for fuck sake, there are four virtuoso
musicians in our own building. you have to get used
to the fact that this is a highly artistic & musical
neighbourhood. i do not ever play drums indoors, but
i do understand how important it is to be able to
play music in your own home. it is a necessity.

but to deliberately disrupt the peace of the neighbourhood
just for the sake of ego gratification - that is not
acceptable at all. pathetic, needy, useless little
shit of a man!

idiot moron guitar god has been playing again this evening.
i can hear him right now, but he is aware that he risks a
fine if the police can catch him.

lately the police have been so overworked with the student
protests over the tuition hikes. they have been doing lots
of overtime. it feels so trivial and insignificant to ask
them to investigate a loud psychotic musician whose ego
knows no bounds. such a needy little fucker! i honestly
do not understand how someone can be so needy and so
useless!

anyway, i was about to go out for a walk in the park to
see the supermoon in scorpio and my cat, buster, insisted
that i wait and share some catnip with him. whom i to say
no thank you?

anyway, by the time i got out there into the park with open
skies abounding, the moon was starting to get obscured
by drifting dense clouds. but she sure was bright! and

my old friend buster, the cat is perhaps 20 years old.
i have been in this apartment for ten years now, and
he has been with me for nine years.

last night was not a good night for him. he is very
confused, agitated and disoriented now. he throws up
a lot and wants comfort in the night. so i did not
get very much good sleep last night. it is hard to see
him going downhill now.

the idiot guitar god started playing loud guitar
last night about 11:30 pm. he heard my upstairs
neighbour playing piano very quietly, respect-
fully, and absolutely had to play three times
louder with his fancy foot pedal effects.

pathetic little shit of a man next building playing his bass again today. he is playing right now, about 5 times louder than he needs to be. he is most definitely not playing in his little studio. he wants to perform for us. he thinks we need to listen to him.

he thinks that the police will not respond to noise complaints, because the street work has caused so much congestion on the
street. there is no place for the police to park if they wanted
to come.

he sounds hostile and angry. stupid little puke. so needy, so useless and desperate for attention. on the street today he looked like a deranged unhappy little man.
