William Shakespeare (1564-1616) from Macbeth A dark Cave. In the middle, a Caldron boiling. Thunder. Enter the three Witches. 1 WITCH. Thrice the brinded cat hath mew'd. 2 WITCH. Thrice and once, the hedge-pig whin'd. 3 WITCH. Harpier cries:—'tis time! 'tis time! 1 WITCH. Round about the caldron go; In the poison'd entrails throw.— Toad, that under cold stone, Days and nights has thirty-one; Swelter'd venom sleeping got, Boil thou first i' the charmed pot! ALL. Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn, and caldron bubble. 2 WITCH. Fillet of a fenny snake, In the caldron boil and bake; Eye of newt, and toe of frog, Wool of bat, and tongue of dog, Adder's fork, and blind-worm's sting, Lizard's leg, and owlet's wing,— For a charm of powerful trouble, Like a hell-broth boil and bubble. ALL. Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn, and caldron bubble. 3 WITCH. Scale of dragon; tooth of wolf; Witches' mummy; maw and gulf Of the ravin'd salt-sea shark; Root of hemlock digg'd i the dark; Liver of blaspheming Jew; Gall of goat, and slips of yew Sliver'd in the moon's eclipse; Nose of Turk, and Tartar's lips; Finger of birth-strangled babe Ditch-deliver'd by a drab,— Make the gruel thick and slab: Add thereto a tiger's chaudron, For the ingrediants of our caldron. ALL. Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn, and caldron bubble. 2 WITCH. Cool it with a baboon's blood, Then the charm is firm and good. Happy Halloween ........

Another week at the food bank. 2 potatoes - I gave to a neighbour 1 Loaf of sliced bread - I gave to a neighbour 1/2 a dozen bread rolls - I will give to another neighbour after she has had her nap (she was at the docs @ 7am today and will have some tests done and hopefully find out if her heart will put up with going for the Cancer surgery next month) 1 pack of meat (2 beef fillets) In the freezer 2 Apples 1 packet of rice 1 pepper (Anaheim) - The redder they are the hotter they are (found that out last week cos a guy told me what to look for) - I got a green one ~~. 2 sticky buns 1/2 dozen cookies which some are broken lol 7oz bag of cream cheese and sour onion crisps/chips If you have a larger family you get more of everything. Also got a few winter sweaters/jumpers. I managed to find and bring home with me 2 books - For Love Of Rory by Barbara Leigh and Warriors Deception by Diana Hall ...... Have not really read a book for a while so I decided its something to do when the snow comes (which won't be long - and I can snuggle up In my Rockies Blanket)... My friend and I went into a nearby City and looked about in there little pantry shop and my friend managed to get a little roll along bag for $2 (bargain) she wants it mainly to carry her oxygen in so she won't have to carry it. Today I have been rather a busy Elle. Just before 10am today I went to a different friends house than yesterday and we went out in her vehicle, we did a lot of errands, we went out and had lunch and we did some shopping in a grocery store a few miles out. Amongst our travels she had to go and have some blood work done at a lab, she has to have these tests done at least once a month. Unfortunately she is fighting Cancer yet again, this will be her fourth time on this round-a-bout. She has to have an operation next month to get this Cancer out - this time she has Thyroid Cancer and today, to me she told me she is worried about it - This is the first time she will be fighting this cancer by herself, her husband passed away in the last 2 years, her family all live in different states, she is very happy in knowing she has lovely friends around her. She has had a double masectomy due to breast Cancer that she has had twice, she has also had some sort of kidney cancer and only has 20% functionality of it that works now - it gradually builds up to a bit more but this week her doc was concerned (thats why another blood test was required)cos the percentage dropped, she has to drink lots and lots of water to make the kidney work and also she has a rapid heart beat from time to time and tires easily. We did have a great day and she is grateful that we as her friends will look after her while she is recuperating after her op (she wont be able to have solid food for a while) - lol she did buy 10 cans of chicken soup today lol. When we got home I brought in her groceries etc... and put stuff away in her fridge and tidied up a bit - then I came home. We was out doing stuff for the majority of the day and she was tired out and needed a nap when we got home. Hugs and Love, Elle x

Today I am going to help a friend (just for company) for a few hours. In a while she will come and pick me up and then we shall be going off to our local food bank where they will be giving out food boxes for the senior citizens of our community. They give this food box out once a month for those who are eligible. You have to be 60 years old or older to recieve one of these boxes. Luckily my friend is - and as there are 2 of them in the household she needed to show proof of earnings, and if that fell below a certain amount then they would get it. The food box may not contain much in the way of food but every little helps - Last month she got about 6 cans of veggies, a box of cornflakes, a box of instant mash, a couple of cans of fruit and some gravy/soup, and a few other things. This does not seem a lot and it is to last a whole month/ I go with her also to our local food bank every week and I am registered there for that (No age restrictions) for those that need help. The food bank is run by a Christian society and gets help via volunteers and the local shops give what they can. The food that they get is a bit on the best before dates after date, so is not the stuff you can buy at the stores, it is stuff they need to off load as they are unable to sell it 'cos a lot of it is on the mouldy side so you have to be careful what ya get. This week for a family of 1-2 you was allowed 1 (yes one) potato (can you manage on 1 potato to last a whole week? sometimes a potato can be as small as a plum but this week we were allowed a large potato and sometimes you are allowed 6 for the week. 2 bread products (a pack of 6 bagels, a sliced loaf is 2). A hand packed packet of rice or dried beans. There is NOT meat every week so maybe if you are lucky enough you may get 2 small packs a month. 2 desserts - which can be 2 packs of 6 cookies if ya like or 2 packs of 12 mini cupcakes etc or a mix of both. When you have a birthday you are allowed a birthday cake - bearing in mind that all of theses are past there sell by dates. I have stood up in these lines/queues - in the hot sun and in the freezing cold. There are NO public toilets so ya have to hold it - so tough if ya don't feel well. What food stuff I get, I share with others if I am able. I get a pack of rice and make a huge rice pudding and share it out with others. The volunteers are very helpful and nice, and sometimes people have only these people to speak to and some really do look forward to going there every week. There are some free books (the Bible is one. They have a little shop there also where you can get previously worn clothes etc. Last week they had a lot of winter coats available for everyone and all ages. Take care out there people. Elle x So if you are one of those people that do not need help, do not judge those that are in need ...... it could be you in that line for food, you just never know when you are down on your luck. With all the furloughs that have been going ion and families have NOT been getting any pay the queues are that bit longer - even the military are queueing up - I see them each week - they do not ask for it - they protect our country and they do get to go first in the line - which is something. This just should not happen.
