It made me question who I am and where I come from lol. I am Proud to be Irish, although I dont live there at the moment, I will go back. But then after this chat, maybe I am actually without roots and ancestry lol.

Him: No idea that was like before my grandparents time

Me: O K, So youre really American with Irish Ancestry

Him: No Im as Irish as you are

Him: Yes, where were you born then

Him; Yeah but what State is that in Unless youre from New York state youre not Irish

Me: It isnt its in Ireland

Him: ok but the real true Irish people are all from New York State

Me: So what does that make me then I was born in Ireland

Him: Well then youre a Brit aint you

Me The F*** I am a brit I was born in Ireland, therefore , and the clue is in the name ireland, Im Irish

Him: Yeah maybe thats because you like to think of yourself as Irish, but real Irish people come from New York State, and unless you come from there you aint Irish.

Him: No i dunno what you mean

Me: So youre not American then

Him : No i told you Im Irish through and through

Me: So how about say a guy who was born say here in Ireland, but moved to Australia, what nationality is he

Him; European, obviously he is still in Europe so hes a European

Me: No hes moved to Australia,

Him : Yeah but thats like an American who moves from Florida to Kentucky, hes still in America so hes still American

Me: Im kinda guessing you didnt study Geography much in school

Him: We were taught what we needed to know,
