So I went out to the mountains today. I had a ball. I remember being a boy playing up in these hills. I went looking for all the things that used to stir my young mind. I thought it would be great fun and make an interesting blog. While searching for wild flowers, the blog changed. I encountered one of the coolest things I have seen in quite sometime. I was tracking down what I used to call watermelon flowers. I have no idea what they are, but there leaves resemble watermelon. So I'm a only 30' off the road when something catches my eye.

It's an ammo box. So after saying my goodbyes to twl, whisper, brat, mb, and the other NN lovelies. I proceeded to spring the booby trap. I was suitably pleased when it didn't explode. What I found inside was very cool.

It contained a spiral notebook and little nonsense tidbits. At first I thought it was someone's time capsul that never got buried. However, after examining the notebook. Yes I'm nosey. The notebook has dates and signatures from everyone else who had found this box. The dates go back for years. So, I added to the book, and placed the box back into it resting spot. It was a great day, but I must confess the box was the highlight.
