I told ya Linus had started playing with the pups....and this morning I took pics to prove it! Something amusing about watching a 65 lb. male pit bull just watching puppies wander around....

Just think that the 3 week old monsters eating canned food is amazing. The previous litters nursed for almost 8 weeks, but these guys have decided that Alpo is da bomb! Missed a great photo when I got home, too. Went to check on the kids and found Linus sitting in the pups kennel....letting the babies use him as a jungle gym! It seems my 2 year old red-nose pit has decided he likes puppies. I was kind of worried that he may accidentally step on one so I went in the back yard to get him out. The big goof hid in the house, curled up with puppies crawling over him. The arrangement is back to normal now....mom and Aunt Lucy are in with the pups while Uncle Linus and Aunt Josey guard the rest of the yard.


4:30 AM feeding...they wake up quick when a bowl of dog food is nearby!

My g/f has been bottle feeding one of the pups since they were two days old and took a second one after we moved them back into the puppy kennel (she was the runt, so she could have wormed her way through the fence). The two she has have started eating solid food...they like scrambled eggs and Mighty Dog canned food! I figured it was time to try the rest on real food, so I got some canned Alpo when I went grocery shopping today. The little ones heartily approve of this, as you can see.....








You see, they don't have any problem with Alpo!

FFS....they're only 3 1/2 weeks old!

Fixed the dog house so the little munchkins can't escape. had to get a couple of quick shots at feeding time this morning. Notice Axel glaring at me in both photos. Seems little King Shit doesn't like being stuck in the house...lol

I know, I said that all of this litter was getting adopted...but after this morning, I just gotta consider keeping Axel. Went out to feed the dogs before work and as usual, the 4 adults run to the back door to get their cookies. They're off munching, so I start filling food bowls. Axel comes wandering out of the dog house to pee, then notices me standing there with a bucket of Alpo...the little shit bowed up like he was a grown 65 lb. dog and barked at me! Then he sat down and started wagging his tail. Two and a half weeks old and he's already got an attitude! He even barked at Linus when Linus came to check out breakfast...and Linus backed away! When I got home from work this afternoon, the big kids were standing at the fence barking (there were several people in my neighbors yard). I look towards the dog houses, and there's Axel, barking his little ass off just like he was a big dog. I just wish I'd had the camera with me to catch that...lol!

Down to seven pups now. One passed away Tuesday, no idea why...but she's buried next to her granddaddy. The other, we have no clue what happened....just can't find the puppy. As for the remaining seven...they're loud and extremely mobile for just about three weeks old! Eyes are all open and they're starting to respond to sounds now. Checked on 'em the other afternoon and Axel (the white male) got up, walked to the door of the dog house and friggin' barked at me! He's gonna be a handful...he has the slightly bowed legs and big noggin that can only be pit bull. My girlfriend still has his twin sister at her house...and little miss Lilly rules the living room there. G/f's roommate has a 6 year old husky/grey wolf mix named Loki...and he's decided that Lilly is HIS daughter! Kinda cute seeing a tiny little puppy curled up next to a 75 lb. furball.
...and, Rayven tried to give me a heart attack this morning. Went out to feed the kids and heard pups screaming. Seems Rayray decided that the house I had fenced off from the others was too small...so she moved the babies into the main kennel to a bigger house. Once everyone was moved, they quieted down...and Rayven and Lucy have plenty of room to curl up with the kids. Still amuses me that Lucy helps babysit when she's never had pups before...and even more amusing, Linus doesn't dare go near the pups for fear of mom and Aunt Lucy beating his ass. lol

I managed to get a partial count this evening before mama Rayven rushed in to guard the pups. Counting the one girl that my g/f is bottle feeding, there's 3 boys, 3 girls and 3 "mama Rayven says mind yer own damn business". lol
