Sheepy just had to put snow pics in his blog...so we got snow last night...lol





It snowed for almost two hours. The top pic is just snow falling against the yard light by the driveway. The local weather man said it wouldn't stick...the pic of my girlfriends Explorer proved him wrong. It only lasted for the two hours though...it turned to rain and you couldn't tell it ever happened after another hour.

The gravel that the NC DOT dumped all over my road WAS the new pavement. They rolled it and painted the lines today while I was at work.

How much weird crap can go wrong during one holiday? I think I set a personal record on Thanksgiving. I started Thursday morning by going out to replace a part on the truck. I had already purchased the part the previous day, just unplug it, remove 2 screws, put the new part on and plug the wires back in...WRONG! Old part came off, no problem...started the screws to hold the new part, they started fine...then one snaps as I'm tightening it. OH SHIT! Ok, no parts stores open....just drive the car and fix the truck on Friday. Went to eat with the g/f's family. They cooked one of the best turkeys I've ever had...but everything else tasted like green bean casserole...even the deviled eggs. Oh well...head home and wait for her to get there (she was also eating with her room mate). Pull in the driveway and there's a puff of white smoke from under the hood of the car...not good. seems the A/C compressor decided to lock up. Searched all over the house and the tool shed and BINGO!...found the A/C compressor that came off the car I totaled. Swap the compressors....and the belt won't fit...WTF? Same belt...same type compressor from the same model...but the belt I was using is now too short. Fuck it...came inside and watched TV. Friday morning, wake up after fighting the g/f and the dogs for the blanket all night. Feed dogs, wake up the g/f and get ready to go get car parts and pay bills. End up getting a new cellphone (I just went in to pay the bill...lol) and giving my old phone to the g/f 'cause hers had started to act up. Hit the parts store to get a new belt and a screw extractor set for the broke screw on the truck. Get home...they gave me the wrong belt...now it's too long. Then, drilled out the broke screw on the truck, threaded the extractor in...and the extractor breaks! By this point, I was willing to commit wholesale murder at a car parts store. We take the belt and the extractor set back...got the money back for the extractor, got another fuckin' belt...but they don't carry the part that the screw and their broken extractor is stuck in. GRRRRRR! At least the belt fit this time, so I can drive my car...but the truck is down until I can get to a salvage yard and get a replacement part.

Did I mention that two of the dogs also managed to lose their name tags AND rabies tags? lol

Rant over...hope everybody had a great weekend )

They put the road construction signs back up this morning. I saw what looked like a street sweeper truck go by the house, followed by a flatbed with several workers lounging on the back...and that was it. No truck loads of asphalt, no pavers....is paving a road THAT fucking complicated?
