Laid-back, easy going guy until my passions are aroused. I've been here 3 other times... I keep trying to get it right, I guess. lol

After all of the work I've done today, and still having to go to my job, it's kind of a reverse Beatles lyric: You say hello and I say goodbye. Life goes on. ~

Bob Dylan will be playing in concert here locally in early November. Last night I dreamed I was casually chatting with him. When someone invades your dreams, it means you're anticipating seeing them a bit too much. ~

Driving home from work last night. Cruising along, listeniing to the radio, watching the road. Everything is hunky-dory. Until... Out of nowhere, a raccoon darts out in front of my car. Damn! I hit the brakes, even knowing it was probably too late. Waiting for that 'thump-thump' to happen. But... Nothing! I stopped, got out of the car and looked around. I didn't see anything at all. The crafty little bugger had somehow managed to avoid my car. I got back inside and drove off, smiling. Almost 40 years ago, I DID run over a raccoon out in the country. Before I could get turned around to go back and check, a truck passed me going the other way. When I got back, it was gone. Believe me, it was smashed. My only thought is that the person driving the truck must have stopped and picked it up. Whether they wanted it for the hide or for food I'll never know. Thinking of then and now, the old saying is true: Sometimes you get the bus. Sometimes it gets you. ~

My neighbor two doors down has had his electricity turned off for non payment. The only reason I know is because the notice was lying on the floor in the hallway and I just picked it up to see what it was. He works. His girlfriend works. Next to the water bill, it is very cheap. I'm not going to interfere in his affairs, I just find it perplexing, that's all. ~

The security guard where I work is an institution. He was working there long before I started. He lost both of his parents and his wife while we worked together. He lost a kidney. He became a diabetic. Through it all, he worked hard, never missing a day and covering for others who didn't show up... that's a lot of double shifts, once or twice a triple shift. What was his reward? Monday night at work, while on his rounds, he suffered a heart attack. In true form, he didn't want to leave the job and go to the hospital. He has always been a dependable guy. A nice guy that everyone likes. He is in my thoughts and prayers. ~

offense is a good defense. Or is it the other way around? I suppose it depends on how you look at things. My team has good defense, but if you can't score, the best you can hope for is a 0-0 tie, and I've never seen or heard of a team tying every game. Hopefully, the offense will catch up. ~

I have worked most of my life at jobs on the second shift. Going in to work when everyone else is going home is not a new thing for me. I've always liked it... stay up late, sleep in late, every day. My Dad was a musician, so I was always used to the different hours. When I worked for GM in one of their factories on second shift (3pm to 11:30pm) for 3 plus years, I never went to bed before daylight, which is really hard to do in the winter. lol This song reminds me of that time: Yes, I have been accused on more than one occasion of being a vampire.
