I found a meatloaf at the grocery that only needs to be heated in the microwave 3 to 4 minutes.

I'm making potato cakes for the first time to go with it.

Dinner will either be delicious or a disaster.

Trains around here have been stopping and blocking major roads for sometimes up to an hour. Train officials say they will 'look into it.'

A major artery to get to the airport in our state capitol (about 60 miles from my town) is closed for repairs. Better leave four hours early to get there on time since you now have to drive through town to get there.

Even though laws have been passed to try (yeah, good luck enforcing it) and stop people from talking on cell phones, people continue to do so every day. The way some people are distracted, you are taking your life in your hands just driving across town. Especially where traffic lights are concerned.

Stop the madness!

The NFL season has started. With all of the games shown around here, I watched maybe one half of a quarter. Mainly I was just checking scores.

If the NFL wants me to watch, they should put on better games. And I would watch more... if they paid me.

One of the reasons I'm on Facebook is to talk to family and friends who are scattered all over the country. I have a cousin who lives in Alabama and I haven't seen her since my father died in '94. We message each other frequently. Some thing I've learned about her:

She is 51 years old
She has never been married. (she was engaged once, but he turned out to be a confessed pedofile).
She is a virgin.
She is religious.
She is naive to my sense of humor, so it's frustrating sometimes to have to explain my jokes.

Can't and won't seem to be her main go to words whenever I talk about things she's never done before. For about the last week, we have been talking about Reuben sandwiches. She's never tried one and won't, because it has sauerkraut on it. She claims the smell of sauerkraut makes her ill. So today, she sent me a picture of what she called a reuben sandwich... minus the sauerkraut. I didn't tell her that without the 'kraut, it's just a corned beef sandwich. I suggested that next time, just put a spoonful of 'kraut on it. Along came the can't word.

Finally I told her to forget it, admit that she's a wimp and to just move on.

I can hardly wait to hear her whining reply.

As always, life goes on.

It's finally been cool enough in the mornings lately that I can take my morning coffee outside to drink without breaking into a sweat.

I've bought two pair of shorts, a light fall jacket and a space heater in the last week.

It used to be booze while online would spur these sprees. Now it's just finding a great price.

Maybe I'm getting in touch with my feminine side?
