Laid-back, easy going guy until my passions are aroused. I've been here 3 other times... I keep trying to get it right, I guess. lol

The same people who are either supporting or denying the existence of our latest president were doing just the opposite when we had our last president. All fail to see the irony of their 'flip-flop'. ~

Wednesday, January 9, 2019, 7:22:37 PM- Have you ever... (part 4)
Have you ever known someone who gets sexually aroused by seeing violence? I'm not talking about watching sports like football or boxing. I'm talking about seeing someone beat on another person in a real fight in the streets or someone being shot or stabbed. I'm just wondering how a person could become like that. 'There are more things in Heaven and earth, Horatio, then are dreamt of in your philosophy.' - Shakespeare ~

Tuesday, January 8, 2019, 7:49:52 PM- love/hate
We Americans love to win, hate to lose. We toast the winners with champagne and losers can cry in their beer. If you win too much, people will try to tear you down. If you lose too much, you become "those lovable losers" that no one takes seriously any more. We live vicariously idolizing sports stars and celebrities, ignoring those starving, suffering from substance abuse and those living on the streets. Fewer and fewer people are content with just being average, toiling away day by day to achieve their goals of family and a home. Don't like your marriage? Get out of it... don't put the time and effort into making it work, like our parents did. Don't like your job? Quit and live off of someone else's money. Don't like yourself? Numb yourself with booze and/or drugs and blame everyone else for your problems instead of looking in the mirror and accepting your shortcomings. Don't treat others like you want to be treated. Lie and cheat to get ahead. Americans love a winner and hate a loser. I'm right and you're wrong is now our mantra. Compromise? No way, baby! i'm getting mine, to Hell with you! Stop the train... I want to get off. I'm content with who I am and what I have (or don't have). Doesn't make me better than anyone. It just makes me more content at day's end when I go to sleep at night. Carry on, folks, my rant is done. Peace! ~

Monday, January 7, 2019, 7:01:19 PM- Mail
Yes, snail mail still works. I ordered a few things on Saturday and they arrived today in the mail. I know that snail mail seems old fashioned. Everyone wants instant gratification. But there's something to be said for the anticipation, the waiting. It's akin to seeing all of those Christmas presents under the tree and knowing you have to wait for the joy. The only puzzlement today was the carrier's delivery system. He brought a package that wouldn't fit in my mailbox, but left the rest of my mail in the mailbox. Efficiency is not his forte', eh? ~

I noticed that the two teams with the number one defense in their respective leagues both lost today in the playoffs. Hmmm...

Friday, January 4, 2019, 8:07:12 PM- Lifted
When I was a child, it was my Father... He lifted me up. As a young man drowning in my own inequities, I found that God had not forgotten me... He lifted me up. In my declining years, it will be a male nurse who puts me in my bed... He will lift me up.

Best aftertaste for me would be chocolate. Worst aftertaste for me would be alcohol. Yours?

Wednesday, January 2, 2019, 7:31:49 PM- Flannel
This year at Christmas, I either received or bought for myself: Flannel sheets, navy blue & gold plaid. Flannel shirt, blue & green plaid Flannel boxers, 1 blue 1 gold 1 red Flannel p.j.'s, black and grey plaid I suppose you could say I love flannel. You got a problem with that? ~

Tuesday, January 1, 2019, 8:17:30 PM- I think it's new
New Year's Day... so far: Got out of bed, stretched with Yoga, had my coffee, then showered and shaved. Spending a little time on the 'net. So far, it's like any other day. I suppose the big difference is that it's a Tuesday and I don't have to work. Another is what I will eat for my first meal of 2019: Ham, blackeye peas, sauerkraut and cornbread. It's an old southern tradition passed to me from my parents, who both grew up in Tennessee. It's supposed to bring good health and prosperity in the coming year. I will enjoy the meal. The rest remains to be seen. Keeping a positive attitude. ~

Monday, December 31, 2018, 7:24:30 PM- Out with the old...
... in with the new. Try your best not to mix moonshine with whatever else you're drinking. I did that one New Year's and woke up at 6:00am in an the parking lot of an abandoned building in the front seat of my car. Have a Happy New Year, everyone!
