Well. Thanks to Labor Day, I had three days off from my job. I ate anything I wanted: Cheeseburgers, pizza, donuts, potato chips and chocolate. Now I'm going back to work and I can hardly wait to step on the loading dock scale and see how much weight I've gained. So. It's back to eating healthy and working out to lose the pounds. If not for a regular routine, I'd probably be about 300 lbs. by now. And I'm eating an apple as I write this. See? Commitment. ~ | ||

Labor Day. A time to reflect and to celebrate the workers who have made this country and who keep it going daily. A lot of people today put down the unions. Ponder this: Unions got everyone the 8 hour workday. Overtime. The 5 day work week. I worked for a union many years ago when I worked for GM. The work was hard and dirty, but the compensation was superb. Here's to everyone today, not just union workers, but everyone who toils for their paycheck. ~ | ||

Last week I had a sinus infection. It was bad enough that my teeth on one side were extremely sensitive to hot or cold. I took sinus medication, which helped a little. Finally, I searched all the med sites I could find on the internet. One (the Mayo clinic) suggested decongestants. Made sense. They even suggested Nyquill with Vics in it. I tried it and slept like a log. When I woke up, my head and teeth felt great. I took some sinus medication in the morning the next two days and it was finally gone. Everything back to normal. Sometimes the internet can be a pain in itself with too much information. Sometimes it can be a Godsend. Going to drink some hot tea now. ~ | ||

My new cargo pants arrived. One pair is khaki, one is camo. I washed them and tried them on. A little snug. I wear a 33 waist, but got a 32 because they only come in even sizes and I figured a 34 would be too loose. I have lost some weight and have been working out, so this must be an incentive to work at it harder, right? ~ | ||

... I used to love. I've never seen anyone change so much so fast. My ex wife. She started changing from the day I slipped that wedding ring on her finger. I also haven't made the same mistake since. My level of acceptance has definitely changed. lol ~ | ||

A farmer is talking to his little boy at the kitchen table. The little boy asks him what he does for fun. The man says to come with him and the little boy follows him outside. The man, in his overalls and scuffed boots, walks out past the barn to a small shed out back. Inside, we see a studio, filled with paintings - some finished, others partially done. The little boy looks around wide eyed and asks: "Did you do all this Daddy?" The man smiles and says: "Yes, son, it helps me relax and sometimes keeps me sane." That was when I woke up. ~ | ||
