Had a meeting with the owner of our company last night. Our contract has been renewed, I'm getting a BIG raise, and my duties have been reduced... a reward for my loyalty.

One gigantic load has been unburdened from my mind.

(singing) "Happy Days are here again"...

I seem to watch more horror movies whenever I have a personal crisis pending.

A good release for all of the pent up emotions of circumstances one can't control.

I bought three Christmas presents today... for myself.

Who knows what I want better than me?

Gorgeous day today. High of 49 degrees, sunshine and the last of the colorful leaves are falling.

Took a drive and enjoyed every minute of it.

I went out today to purchase a thermometer and some insulated sweat pants.

I found a thermometer, but wound up buying oral hygiene products instead.

And I stopped by the liquor store and purchased a bottle of Buttershots schnapps and a bottle of peppermint schnapps.

When I have nothing to do, I don't get bored, I get creative!

Now that I can rest after Thanksgiving, it's time to reflect on a couple of things:

1. I have a wonderful sister(my only immediate family still alive) who, although I couldn't be there to celebrate the holiday with her and her family, took the time to listen to me prattle on for an hour and a half on the phone last night. Gotta love her!

2. I received an early Christmas present at work Wednesday... sort of. I found out our work contract has been renewed again (after having been cancelled November 2nd.) Another company (Big company, nationwide) underbid us, but when they couldn't get our people to jump ship and join them so that they wouldn't know how to do the actual work with all new employees) they withdrew the bid. We're having a meeting on Monday, presumably to find out how this affects we who remain. Hopefully, I'll be able to continue at the same rate and hours until I decide to retire next year... we shall see.

All in all, life is good right now, but who knows what the future has in store? Man plans and God laughs, eh?
