Monday, July 30, 2007, 3:59:59 AM- I guess it's normal
Sometimes I wonder if it's normal to want other ppl to see me nakie. I mean when you talk to ppl you know, you might get the idea that ppl generally consider such things "perverted". Yet those same same ppl are the ones who will stare out of the windows at work when they see a naked person in the high rise across the street. And they are the same ones who ask me to go with them into the adult book store because they are embarassed (or don't have the balls) to go in there alone. And then I look at the 4000 pics that are posted here every day, and the vids of ppl doing what is done in private for the world to see and I realize that NN is only the tip of the iceberg. Then I realize, yup, it's pretty normal. Perv away!

Friday, July 20, 2007, 6:46:00 PM- (a)Bees (b)Wasps (c)None of the above
Re yesterdays blog, I didn't think they were wasps because the hive doesn't look like like the wasps cones I have seen. So I assumed they are bees. The pest control man came out today and said they are bald face hornets. They will enjoy their weekend in their palacial estate which happens to reside on my property but come Monday morning, they will have to take up residence somewhere else (Mondays are a bitch, aren't they?) And yes, it was my beer can opening finger that got stung, however it has no effect on my ability to open a beer bottle. I googled bees stings and got a couple of suggestions for treating it. One is to apply anti-perspirant to it and the other is to apply a paste made of baking soda. Also recommended is to apply an ice pack or cold water for 10-30 minutes. I did all of the above. The swelling went down after a couple of hours and it is completely normal today. Plums wants to know "But what I really want to know is was ya ever stung by a dead bee mister". Indeed, I remember that quote very well, it is from the movie "To Have or Have Not" with Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. Nope, I have never been stung by a dead bee but if it happens, I will let you know.

Thursday, July 19, 2007, 8:16:03 PM- Stung
I noticed a pretty big bee hive in a lilac bush in my yard. So I took out the camera and took a few pics. I got stung in the finger doing it. I have some swelling in my finger but it's not too bad. I have made a mental note to stay the f*** away from bee hives in the future.

Monday, July 9, 2007, 6:58:46 PM- Cell Phone update
Some of your comments crack me up. Contrary to popular belief, my old cell phone is not the size of a small automobile. It's a Motorola Star Tac, the world's first palm size cell phone. I bought it shortly after it hit the market. The only thing wrong with it is it's analog. And it doesn't receive text messages. It's cutting edge 20th century technology, or it was. What's the deal with text messages anyway? If you have a zillion talk minutes on your plan why not just make a voice call? Anyway, after chatting with a specialist at the cell phone web site, I was directed to a phone number for assistance with the password. After going through the automated voice menu, I must have pressed 500 buttons and listened to that many automated messages, I finally got through to a living human being. After a few minutes of chat, he transfered me to someone else. Yay, she was actually able to help me! Now I have a password and can proceed to upgrade my phone and calling plan online. While I can get the same pricing at the company's store or by phone, their rebates are by mail but ordering online has instant rrebates. An instant rebate is always better than a mail in rebate. -Lenny finally gets propelled into the 21st century as far as cell phone technology is concerned-

I finally found a use for the mint that grows in my yard. Steep 2 tea bags with 6-8 fresh mint leafs in a cup of hot water (just below boiling) for about 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags and mint and pour into a 1 quart (or one liter) container. Add about 1/4 cup sugar (adjust to suit your taste). Add 3 ounces fresh lemon juice (2 average size lemons, be sure to remove seeds but leave the pulp in). Fill container with cold water. Serve over ice. It's delicious and refreshing.

Sunday, July 8, 2007, 5:55:07 AM- Technology
When it comes to cell phone technology I have really fallen behind the curve. Many years ago, it seems like an eon, I bought a state of the art cell phone. For a brief moment I was on the cutting edge. However, as all gadgets in this age are concerned, technology doesn't stand still and what is cutting edge today is yesterdays news tomorrow. My current phone is analog and we are now in the digital age. As such, my cell phone providor will discontinue analog service soon. So, I have to get a new phone. I am looking at different phones and have decided on a new one and a new plan (it seems my current plan is also a victim of the new technology). If I order online I get special pricing (free phone and free activation). So, I attempt to register at their web site. As part of the registration, they will assign a password and will transmit that password via a text message. A text message? My current phone is so old it doesn't have text message capability. Hence, no password so no account registration. Damn, I am a few generations behind when it comes to cell phones!

Wednesday, June 27, 2007, 4:02:19 AM- Little critters
I found some little critters in my yard. I was lucky to get close enough to the bunny rabbit for this pic. I'm usually able to get pretty close to the adult rabbits but they are real skittish when they are this little.

Monday, May 28, 2007, 7:07:50 PM- A sad event
I was in my beer larder to take out a few bottles to put in the fridge. The opposite side of the container gave way and a bottle came crashing down, hit the floor and splattered all about. A bottle of beer is a terrible thing to waste!

I think I'm doing too much internet shopping. When the UPS driver passes by my house now he waves to me.

April showers bring May flowers. And flowers attract all kinds of insects. I caught this little guy enjoying the nectar from my lilac blossoms. I'm not 100% sure but I think it's the male.
