Sunday, August 3, 2014, 2:32:48 AM- Deep Purple, Mark II lineup in 1972
A great example of Ritchie Blackmore's mastery of feedback and utter chaos during the latter part of Space Truckin'. Not afraid of trying anything to achieve a new sound from a Fender Strat. The Mark II lineup at its peak. It's long but well worth it.

Sunday, July 27, 2014, 2:30:23 PM- 4th of July walk
I ran across a park that I have driven by many times, not knowing it was there. Got a few shots while walking the park. Still working on my digital SLR photo skills, so the quality is not quite what I would like, but I am happy with a few of the shots. This racoon was napping in a hollow inside one of the large roots of a tree.

Sunday, June 22, 2014, 1:53:37 AM- Quote of the weekend...
There is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened. Douglas Adams I think I can subscribe to this theory...

Saturday, June 14, 2014, 2:25:48 AM- Classic Comedy Friday
I can never see this bit too many times. Abbott and Costello were a well-oiled comedy machine. Who's on first is probably their most recognized routine. I know I'm showing my age a bit, but this is from well before even I was born.

Sunday, June 1, 2014, 3:21:48 AM- Not their best tune, IMNSHO, but certainly the most popular
A nice behind the scenes piece about Deep Purple's Smoke On The Water. Great studio and live footage of the band from that time while the tune backs the video.

Saturday, May 17, 2014, 12:38:37 AM- Saturday Morning
I thought I would share this great song from the late Harry Chapin. I think he was largely unappreciated during his career. Many know Cat's In The Cradle or Taxi. This is a beautiful song to bring on the weekend. Hope you enjoy...

Friday, May 16, 2014, 1:05:50 AM- Tree pollen and you...
Hot off the Facebook presses... Pollen is essentially ‘plant sperm’. Therefore, this makes hay fever an STD. Since no one voluntarily takes in pollen, the logical conclusion is that we are all being by trees. Seems logical to me...

Wednesday, May 14, 2014, 1:26:40 AM- Can it be 30 years since the release of Perfect Strangers?
30 years ago this year, the classic Mark II lineup of Deep Purple reunited and released Perfect Strangers. Here is the video of the title track. Look really close and you can see Ritchie Blackmore smile. He's been known to do it from time to time, but you have to watch closely to see it happen... A great, timeless rocker from an under appreciated band.

Sunday, May 11, 2014, 3:50:45 AM- Shake your tailfeather
I dare you not to tap your foot to this tune. One of many good tunes and scenes from the original Blues Brothers movie. The views of Maxwell street in this scene no longer exist.

Saturday, May 3, 2014, 5:13:19 PM- *Special Report*
This just in... A recent study has found that women who carry a little extra weight live longer than the men who mention it. Brought to you by The Save-A-Man-Today Foundation. That is all...
