Tuesday, February 23, 2010, 9:40:23 PM- Ugh
Wow, that was a crappy day at work... Things are still not going too well for my boss, she's sick of some members of management being absent frequently and leaving her to do the 'dirty work', and she think everybody 'is out to get her' at the slightest remark... On the upside, she's talking about transferring the communications service to me, which could be interesting. (Even though my communication style is too direct to be a good communications officer, the field has always interested me, and I do think good communication is essential for any organisation) Well, I can't say that my job isn't evolving, I wouldn't have thought two years ago that I'd be project manager and that I'd be someone's boss Now to get myself to work more efficiently, doing less overtime...

Monday, February 22, 2010, 9:14:41 PM- Surprise
Last Saturday we went to the south of Belgium ('mountainous' region, compared to the rest of the country) to take a walk. We hadn't counted on there still being 20-30cm snow!

Leaves chasing each other in the wind come to realise senseless smiles and echoing minds if only it came to pass asking for forgetfulness without absolution we walk without dreaming we sleep of thunder we rage until the page turns white

Yes, the past few weeks have really been 'eeks' My boss hasn't been doing too well lately, and that makes the mood slightly 'sour' at times. Fortunately I've never been on the receiving end of one of her tantrums (she's more than feisty ), but steering clear during an off period is recommended. I used to be able to live in the most messy and disorganised circumstances imaginable, but I've found that my peace of mind is suffering now. The combination of a messy house (unemptied moving boxes, half decorated rooms,...) and chaos at work (mountain of papers on my desk, and all kinds of different tasks to do simultaneously)... Well, it's making me restless. It's strange how organising for example a cupboard can soothe my nerves, lol. Our pots and pans are now well organised, as is our tupperware material... And bf had better keep it that way

Wednesday, February 17, 2010, 5:44:48 AM- PC absence
This last few eeks, my presence online and on the computer has dwindled... I still go on the computer during breakfast, but in the evenings I prefer watching some recorded TV shows (Antiques Roadshow, Mythbusters, animal rescue programs,...), and I often don't even turn on my computer anymore in the evening. Now if only I could get rid of my bad habit of surfing the internet at work Despite the little time spent on the computer, I managed to 'concoct' this image:

After a long break from fractals, I've rediscovered an old love... And a much more constructive hobby than playing online games

Sunday, January 24, 2010, 8:50:25 PM- New year's resolutions
For 2010: - lose 25kg (or a good chunk of it) - run 2 to 3 times a week - lift weights 2 to 3 times a week - spend less time on the internet while at work, therefore doing less 'overtime' and getting home at a normal hour - doing household chores more regularly instead of waiting for everything to pile up - be more organised (less clutter) and structured, and follow through what I start - refrain from giving too much negative criticism, especially at work when talking about colleagues Well, that's plenty, curious to see what will have been achieved at the end of the year...

Wednesday, January 6, 2010, 9:12:50 PM- Soothe me please
Frayed nerves, one heck of a day at work (not bad, just really busy and tiring), and as someone reminded me of my voice greeting, I decided to listen to the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5bmDujFud8 Not the original (the Bee Gees aren't my thing ) but my fave version (Michael Bolton). And then found this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ch7txUjCmiA And to top it off: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3u2_GQlwxbI Just the right music to soothe my nerves... And he looks sooooooo much better with short hair!
