Odd yet delightfully intriguing. Morbid yet very very sweet. Sarcasm is part of who I am.....deal with it.

Thursday, August 7, 2014, 5:15:33 AM- Knowing how to have fun.
My future daughter in law is celebrating her birthday today. I called to sing her Happy Birthday and to find out what plans my son had in store for her celebration. She told me and man oh man do they know how to have fun! Seriously, she had me cracking up. Evidently they were on their way to the cities community center to play Bingo. As I snickered, I asked her if she had put her hair in a bee hive. She said that she had teased it up as far as it would go.....lol. Their full attire is: Son: Polyester Lime Green Suit, with a red and yellow pin stripe tie and gold lame loafers. Sons GF: Bee Hive hair-do and ribbons, Striped Neon Yellow Waitress Dress, with Carol Burnette Sandals. *Anyone who watched the Carol Burnette re-runs, knows what shoes I am talking about. Those two have the best ways of having good old fashioned fun! Yes, they also bowl and search for the drive-ins that are still in business. The last time I played Bingo was at Bible Study when I was 12 yrs old. Of course we didn't play for money, we played for gold stars. Ever go back in time and play dress up?

Monday, August 4, 2014, 5:39:54 AM- Catching up from last weekends whirlwind drive.
I still haven't decided if I'm going to accept the job in the desert. I still have time to decide and that is good. But on the chance that I do take it.......Last weekend, I was off on a fast road trip! I spent two full days driving into the the surrounding area in order to check out places to live. For 2 1/2 years, I lived in the desert of Arizona. I do know how it feels and what to expect. The desert has a beauty all of it's own. The scents, weather and the sounds are unique and I do enjoy them. To me, any place that I put my bed, I can make comfy, serene and lovely. To me....It isn't the place that I live, it's what I create around me. After those two days, I rushed over to care for the ex, clean the house a bit and run some errands for him. It was also time to get him out of the house and go to lunch. Of course I did make time to do what I like to do most. I cannot visit the OC without spending and hour or two in Huntington Beach. This beach is my savior among saviors. My zen moment was spent watching the surfers. And feeling the sand on my back by leaning back into the sand and staring at the sky. After the quick drive to and from the desert and Orange County, it was back to the office. It's funny how fast 4 days can go when you are in a hurry. But those hurried days were productive and fun. It is amazing how much you can cram into a short period of time when you are on a deadline. But then again, I do thrive on pressure. I got back and was asked to create two framed photographs for a retiring officer. They meant to ask me before I left, but forgot. Again, I was honored. My mat cutter has been quite the busy bee and so has the lens on my camera. I had 3 days to get both framed creations ready for last Friday. Unfortunately I didn't take pictures of the finished framed and matted photographs, but I do have copies of the pics. It took me all of this weekend to come down from my adrenaline high.

Sunday, August 3, 2014, 2:27:55 AM- It's Lego Saturday!
Last Thursday there was a going away get together for one of the officers. We had a bonfire party on the beach. At first I turned down the invitation, but then thought....... Wait, I deserve the break and went. A good time was had by all. It felt amazing to not think about anything or anyone. It was nothing but 4 1/2 hours of chatting, laughing and no worries. So in honor of Lego Saturday....I give you. The Lego Bonfire........ And the beach bonfire that I warmed my tootsies to by the Carmel Sea. I slept in today....yippie! I did look at one blog when I logged in for a few moments. Then I was off for a light walk. The hours have escaped me these last few weeks. I need more hours in the day...lol. Hugs to all....xoxoxxo

Wednesday, July 30, 2014, 3:58:31 AM- Been busy with......................................
In a nutshell. 1. Family (the ex and his care)...which means traveling up and down the coast. 2. Suicidal calls. I have no idea why they have doubled in numbers. 3. Filling in for officers on vacation. Who takes summer vacations? pfft! 4. Interviews and and filling out background checks for perspective positions. I never burn my bridges. It can take up to a year for some jobs to complete their checks. 5. Still thinking about the tentative job offer in the desert. They don't have to fill the position until October. So I am good. 6. Physical Therapy for my back. 7. Did I mention work? Oh yes. Everyone has been taking summer vacations. I want one of those. There you have it. Hopefully it will settle down and I will return in full glory!. Not only am I missing all of you, but I am missing your blogs, being a doofus in status and a pain in the ass in the forum. Or is that a pain in the ass in status and a doofus in the forum? I get them confused. Anyhoo. I think the storm has passed and will be joining in on the fun after this weekend. Give me some props.....lol......I was able to answer some messages. *pats myself on the back*

Busy, but alive. Tired, but alive. Sore from physical therapy, but alive. I would love to play here, read blogs, perv, bother others in status, but did I mention that I am busy, tired and sore?....lol. I hope that everyone is doing well. Do me a favor...okay? Would you take my place being a sarcastic weenie in status? I'll give you some big kisses if you do. I will be back to bother all of you when I have more than 3 minutes to play....xoxoxo Before I go, I will leave you with little advice. When shaking a jug of orange juice, make sure to remember that you have already removed the lid. Just sayin'

Monday, July 21, 2014, 8:29:43 PM- Did I really say that?
We were shooting the breeze before the Monday morning brief. One of the officers began to tell us about his hike along Big Sur. He told us about two squirrels fighting and how they looked like little furry ninjas as they rolled and jumped around. And what did I say? lol.....a very recognizable NN saying. "Pics or it didn't happen" When I said it he responded with "What?" I giggled and uttered 'never mind' I know what you are thinking. You're thinking that I spend too much time on here. Well, you would be wrong! But in my defense, you dear reader have also made the mistake of doing an NN thing off of the net...lol.

Monday, July 21, 2014, 5:29:22 AM- Love is in the air.
Nature at it's finest. The Sea Lions and the Elephants Seals, known and Bulls are cumbersome, big and clumsy. But when they mate, they are gentle and attentive. It's a slow ritual dance. I almost didn't want to take the picture, but decided that this picture would look good on my white wall. It takes hours of foreplay and a connection before they do they deed. Then when it's over, the Bull heads on over to another bitch and starts all over again. During the mating season, the Elephant Seal has a harem of a dozen or more female seals. What a lucky seal!!! I guess you can call the Elephant Seals the players of the sea. They hit and run and don't have time for settling down...lol Check out the couple getting it on in the background. They must like it wet and wild....hahahaah I remember taking this picture last year. I am looking forward to another winter in which I get to view the wonder of nature and it's reproduction. Last week was the birthing time of the Sea Wrens. I missed it. Babies in nature are such a joy.
