Poohbare is off on a buying trip and I'm a bit restless here at home, so I've been working on the bathroom sink drains all afternoon. Yep, they work great now and no leaks. Heck, the drain in Mom's bathroom hasn't run so fast in... uh... decades, I think. Now I'm off to look at the fridge's ice maker line and valve.

Five years ago today Poohbare saw a pic of me for the first time and sent a PM that simply said "You're addictive." Two simple words, but it was enough that we started exchanging messages, then emails, then phone calls and texts.

I love him more with each day that passes.

Thank you again NN for creating this site. I would not have met the love of my life without your vision.

After going to the dentist yesterday, I returned to the shop. Why, I do not know. Clearly, it wasn't to get any sort of sympathy from Poohbare. The entire left side of my face was numb. What's he do? Makes smartass comments, pretends to dab drool off my chin, asks me to whistle, offers me a beverage...you get the picture. He's giggling the whole time.

The asshat does make me laugh.

Once upon a time, a long long time ago, after I'd culled some baggage from my life/head/heart, Poohbare gave me a beaming smile and told me "I knew I'd win."

I asked him to explain. Here's what he said:

There were three ways things could turn out.
1. You would choose ______________ and be happy. I win.
2. You would choose ______________, be unhappy and come back to me. I win.
3. You would choose to be with me. I win.

I guess it's all a matter of perspective, but I'm not nearly as strong or noble as he is. I couldn't have taken that attitude. Nope. Not for a second. Screw that!

It has become painfully apparent that one of us needs to know at least the basics of gemology. Since he's the coin guy I guess I'll be the jewelry broad.

I know I'm over-reacting. I know I'm not a complete moron. I simply have a deep and abiding hatred of educational environments. I dread this. My brother was ridiculously off-the-charts smart and took every opportunity to remind me of my intellectual deficiencies. So.... all those nasty old insecurities and self-doubts have come bubbling up and spilling out my tear ducts.

I must love Poohbare man awful lot cuz I'm willing to do this for him and for our business. I'll give it my all and try to absorb every single bit of knowledge provided -- doesn't mean I have to like it. grrr

Yeah....so.... Sunday when Poohbare was bopping around ebay, he came across two unopened rolls of silver dollars from a Carson City bank. The bank failed and closed up in 1907. There were no silver dollars produced between 1904 and 1921, so we know the rolls contain dates from 1904 and earlier. At the time he found these auctions, they had 13 hours left.

So.... the next 13 hours passed in a ... let's go with "greatly heightened state of anxiety" as Poohbare proceeded to stare with grave intensity at the coins visible at each end of these two rolls and did a bunch of research to try to figure out clues as to what years at least those four coins were minted. And shared every discovery. woot?

Meanwhile, he continued to check the status of the auctions, stalk the various bidders, make disparaging remarks about their bidding habits, what they've bought, and their family lineage. *snicker*

Finally, in an act of sheer desperation told him "PICK ONE! Pick a roll, bid up to $4,500 and just buy the damn thing!" hoping this would put an end to it all. He picked. He bid. He won. While he paid less than the max amount, an end was not put to it all. *sigh*

He is now grumbling that the coins did not arrive today. Mind you, they were only marked as "shipped" early this morning and they are coming cross-country. Darn snail mail!

Oh, did I mention the agonizing that's gone on with "Should I keep the roll intact? Should I open it? I shouldn't open it. But what if there's a _____ in there? It's worth $______." You get the picture.

Poor man. Even he has started laughing at himself when I give him the long suffering look he's seen umpteen times in the last two days.

It has been an all-around fantastic day.

The project I'm helping a friend work on is coming together nicely. I just need to do a little more research and then they get to deal with the final phase.

Sales were good for the week and the spawn's broken car is an easy fix.

Last but not least, I got the final decision from the review board for unemployment. When I lost my last job -- cuz I was wacky enough to ask for reduced hours due to Mom's health issues -- I filed for unemployment. Ex-boss disputed it and we've been going round and round with appeals, filings, hearings, reviews, etc. Since January, I've not spent a single penny of what's been piling up just in case I had to pay it back. That hurdle is now cleared and I have a nifty little nest egg.

There will be substantial quantities of wine consumed tonight.
