I fly to NZ landing at midnight! I really will miss Oz alot. I have really grown to like it alot here over the past 12 months and met some great people NN'ers and non NN'ers! New Zealand will be fun for sure but there is much I will miss about Australia. She treated me good though. I look forward to more good times in NZ! Well tomorrow my mate and I are leaving Brisbane after quite a while here. I really did like it a whole lot here but its time to move on as I fly out of Cairns in Nov to NZ so things are moving on! I definitely want to thank my mate Walter67 who has been really awesome about letting us stay with him for quite a while and opened his house to us. My mate and I really appreciate all that he has done for us and wont forget it! There still is good people left in this world  He knows if he makes it over my way in Texas he has a place to stay for as long as he needs it. | ||||||

So I am now watching the Chilean miner coverage. They just pulled up the first guy safely after 69 days under ground (a world record btw) I am happy to see they are safe still and I do hope they all get up safe back to their worried familes. So a happy ending! I did hear the mine was bankrupt and run really badly, the owners have disappeared (surprise surprise) so I hope these guys get paid big bucks for what they went thru and I hope those damn owners get jailed for putting their workers thru those shitty working conditions! That would never fly in America or Australia for that matter. I will be in Chile in April it will be interesting to see if there is still anything related to miners when I get there. 7 years ago yesterday, my girlfriend died in car crash  I still miss her even now. Every memory of her I have is just crystallized in my mind. In happier news, I bought my ticket for South America! I arrive in Chile 5th of April. This is after my time in New Zealand, after I leave here (Australia). Got all that? | ||||||

I wrote this poem on 12th Sept. 2001. It remains pretty much the only poem I have ever written. Considering today is 9/11 (here in Australia at least) I figured I would share it with yall here. They laughed, they cried, they died. They went for a fatal for a ride, not knowing it was their last, because of someone else's task. We lugged, We dug, We hugged. We dug in the rubble, they busted our bubble. They shed blood, We gave blood. We laid them to rest. They gave it their best. We salute their bravery.
