The person who says it can not be done should not interrupt the person who is doing it. -Chinese proverb

Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't. Sometimes a philosophical thought can come out of no where! Then again sometimes it don't! LOL

Don’t think. Thinking is the enemy of creativity. It’s self-conscious, and anything self-conscious is lousy. You can’t try to do things. You simply must do things. -Ray Douglas Bradbury When I am in my shop and about to start another project I will often times just get a piece of wood to carve, not looking any further than the size of the project. I will spend a very short amount of time looking it over and sometimes no time at all. I grab a carving gouge and take out a few slices ...not for any real reason at all. Then look again at the piece and see if I "see" anything in its shape. I will do this many times until out of the nothingness I see something. I then proceed to remove all unwanted wood from the piece until I have a finished carving. This may sound weird, but I get my best carvings from doing just this. When I think to long I have a project that sits there unfinished for months. Now this isn't the same way I tackle a furniture piece. I will plan out a bookcase or box quite extensively. But I am always open to a new idea even as I am building. I stay open for that inspiration in case it hits. I always want to build that something special that makes everyone say"Damn that is so Cool!" Just some insight into my process..... Thanks for looking....

There are two ways of spreading light:to be the candle or the mirror that receives it. - Edith Wharton Well I am still a traveler and I don't know where I live. If my home is here, inside my breast, light it up! And I will invite you in as my first guest. -John Logan To bad that all the people that know how to run the country are busy driving taxi cabs and cutting hair. -George Burns

I found a chair I want to duplicate! As if I don't have enough projects already lol! This is called a librariens chair. It is a chair to be used at a library table or desk. Then a simple flip and it becomes a step ladder to reach that long lost volume of forgotten lore! Made from mahogany it harkens back to a time of research in the library.....remember them? this would be a fun project to make and use. Even tho I do have the one in the picture LOL . I want one I made!!.....hmmm perhaps a carving on it somewhere
