Laid-back, easy going guy until my passions are aroused. I've been here 3 other times... I keep trying to get it right, I guess. lol

Tuesday, May 26, 2020, 6:15:16 PM- Like?
Two things that bug me about the usage of the English language in America: 1. Like - "It was like really hot outside." Was it actually hot outside, or did it seem as though it was hot? Please be specific! 2. ? Ending every sentence as though it's a question. "That bill was due on Monday?" Was it due, or don't you know??? I can remember people speaking this way in the late 1960's, but they were usually xxxxxxxxxx. Example: "It was like far out man, you know?" And don't get me started on the usage of ending every sentence with 'you know?' ~

I keep hearing about people going stir crazy during these lock downs. I can see it if you're cooped up with children, maybe even if it's just you and your spouse (or significant other). People like me, who have always liked isolation, can shine in these times. We're the loners and you'll recognize us by our smiles and cheerful moods.

Friday, May 22, 2020, 6:11:56 PM- Loooooong day
I slept fine for six hours last night, then awoke from a disturbing dream about two kids (12 & 14) killing their family and loving it. I know it was just a dream and it didn't bother me, but I just couldn't get back to sleep. So I got up, worked out, did some laundry, showered and shaved and now I'm having coffee. It already feels like a long day and I still have to go to work tonight. I'm waiting on my second wind to get through the night. And when I get home later, a shot and a beer will do me good. ~

Status check: Not one of my favorite things about NN. It's obviously fine for lots of people. Just not my cup of tea. Usually, it is dominated by male members (pun intended) and if I wanted to follow a male conversation, I can go out in public. I also have used the option of 'hide dicks' in the photo section. I took gym class growing up in school and didn't like seeing them then, still don't now. I am at NN to see women and, if I go to status, to read what's on their minds, like in the blogs section. I am not interested in a sausage fest, whether it's pictorial-wise or written word-wise. So, to sum up: Today I'm writing about something uninteresting to me which is, by now, uninteresting to you, too. Carry on, nothing of value here. ~

Sunday, May 17, 2020, 7:41:36 PM- Brown or white?
I drink coffee Monday through Saturday every day when I get up. A big, 2 cup glass. I take mine black with sugar - 1 1/2 tsp. per 8 ounce. On Sundays I use the same 16 ounce glass mug, only I substitute green and raspberry tea (one bag of each), with brown sugar and a dash of lemon. I have always heard that brown sugar is better for you than regular white sugar, so I thought I would look it up. Guess what? There is virtually no difference. Brown sugar has slightly more (.25) calories than white, but other than taste (which I love) brown sugar is used primarily in baking. Well today, I am shifting my Sunday tea a little and will be using regular white instead of brown. I feel that everyone should 'shake things up' occasionally, even if it's a small 'radical' thing like what kind of sugar you put in your tea. ~
