Laid-back, easy going guy until my passions are aroused. I've been here 3 other times... I keep trying to get it right, I guess. lol

I live in an apartment. There are nine apartments in my building and two buildings on the property. That's eighteen apartments, all one bedroom. Some are occupied by couples, but mostly single or divorced people. I've lived here for going on 21 years, the longest stretch of living in one place in my life. I've seen it all from my neighbors: Kind people, reclusive people, mean people, shady people... you name the sort, I've seen them. The kind people and the reclusive people last. All others seem to be here one day and gone the next. Across the street is an 'L' shaped apartment building, one story. All of the bad types seem to live there. I've seen domestic violence from either drunk or druggie couples. One young woman committed suicide and was not found for a few days. Right now there is an obese man who sits in his doorway and yells at anyone he sees walking by. Today made about the third time the cops have come by and talked to him. Earlier today, I was walking from the front door to my car and he yelled "Hey, sir!" at me. I ignored him. I generally ignore anyone who yells at me that I don't know. I left for a while and when I returned he was berating some hapless soul. It quieted down and then, as I walked out to throw away my trash, I saw the cops talking to him. Again. All of the loud, obnoxious people across the street disappear soon after they 'act out'. I simply wonder if the landlord is one who lives in another town or doesn't check the references of the people applying for a unit. I'm getting close to retiring. I plan on moving when I retire. I will definitely research the next place I live. And if it's quiet, like I want, I sometimes wonder what I'll do for entertainment. ~

Saturday, June 22, 2019, 8:51:52 PM- Poets
Does anyone seriously write poetry any more? I mean, other than love addled youths. There was a time, long ago, where my nickname was Poet for awhile. I was 19. Boy, did I ever write some gushy love poems. I still wrote poetry up into my 30's. My ex-wife hated it and after her, somewhat a so-so a reaction from women I dated. The last time I even attempted to write a poem was here in my blog, just a few days ago. Typically, there was no reaction positiive or negative. I suppose I'll still force out a few lines occasionally, but those days of writing poetry, like the passions that inspired it are, I'm afraid, long gone. Ah youth and it's many forms of expression. I have some poetry in my papers, saved back. Perhaps after I'm gone they'll be discovered. Who knows? ~

Friday, June 21, 2019, 6:50:23 PM- A Star is (re)Born
I'm getting ready to watch Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga in 'A Star is Born'. The newest version is now the fourth. I went to the movies to see the one with Kris Kristofferson and Barbara Striesand in 1976. The original was made in 1937, starring Janet Gaynor and Frederich March. Another was made in 1954, with Judy Garland and James Mason. Now you know... a star has been born four times. ~
