Wrigley's latest blog made me do this.....

On October 9, Kelly Rippa of Live With Kelly and Michael made a blanket statement regarding the American Pit Bull Terrier and the people that own them. According to Miss Rippa, all pit bulls are naturally vicious animals and all pit bull owners are drug dealers, gang-bangers and thugs. As any of you that follow my blog know, of the 13 dogs I own, I have 5 pure bred pit bulls and 3 pit bull mixes that I love dearly. It was offensive enough to hear a celebrity make a completely fictitious statement about these wonderful loving creatures, let alone to have her label me as a thug or a drug dealer. I can deal with the label on me because I can speak and prove Miss Rippa wrong....actually, as a professional CNC computer programmer, former school teacher and classically trained musician, I find her statement about the owners laughable. My dogs, on the other hand, have no voice to defend themselves other than that which man provides for them. I'm asking all of you here in the US to please contact your local ABC affiliate station and let them know that Miss Rippa's statements were offensive and slanderous to many people and family pets. My true regret is that many people will take her opinion as a concrete fact and because of this, some poor dog sitting in a shelter will be euthanized rather than finding a loving home.

After 3 years of living with me, Zoie the black lab/German Shepherd has finally moved back in with my girlfriend. To top that, she came over today with her daughter and future son-in-law and picked up Simon and Alera. Three less dogs in the house....it's almost too quiet....

Now I need to find the tiny hole in the fence so Terra can go back outside. The only hole I can find is in the foundation of the house where the water line for the old well comes through...and it's maybe the size of a tennis ball. I swear, Terra is part ferret if that's where she's escaping....
