I finally heard from my insurance agent about getting my bumper fixed on my car. She and her whole family were in isolation for ten days due to Covid-19 positive test results. She set my appointment to take my car in for repair and set me up for a car rental at the insurance company rate of $20.00 (and some odd cents) per day. All I have to do is basically drive my car into the shop, get out of that car and into the other, then do it in reverse when repairs are finished. Although I'm not happy my car was damaged, I am happy with the way things are being handled. Also... Today is the 102nd anniversary of the day Babe Ruth was sold to the (ugh) New York Yankees for $100,000.00. The beginning of a dynasty in New York and an 85 year 'curse' in Boston. And so it goes... on two fronts. ~ | ||

My rear window defroster isn't working. A mechanic told me there was a loose connection that needed to be soldered. I looked at it myself and it looked like it had been glued to begin with. I figured I can fix it myself, just need some glue, which I ordered today. My remote start hasn't been working. I tried re-downloading the app, but it still wasn't working. Diving into the owners manual, I read that the remote start won't work if something else electrical isn't working. So it doesn't take a genius to figure out that if everything else is working right, the rear defroster must be the problem. A dab of Gorilla Glue should fix the connection. As usual, you learn something new every day... if you want to learn. ~ | ||

Betty White was not only a fine actress and animal rights activist, she was quite the character. The language that came out of her mouth in this movie shocked me a bit... until I heard her later on talk shows and in interviews. She was definitely one of a kind and will be missed. ~ | ||

I am a chocoholic. Fellow chocoholics would now say "Hi (my name here)." When the craving for chocolate hits me, I'll go anywhere to pick up some. I generally have products in my home that contain chocolate, like pop tarts & Nuetella (which I have every day on my oatmeal). When I make pancakes, I use Hershey's cocoa mix to make chocolate syrup to top them. Today I thought of alcoholic chocolate drinks. I'm going to stop by the liquor store and buy a bottle of chocolate flavored liquor. As a chocoholic, I will go to extremes to satisfy my cravings. Hey - I could have worse desires. ~ | ||

For my first meal of the new year I had ham, sauerkraut, black eye peas and cornbread. It's an old southern thing that's supposed to bring you good health and good fortune in the new year. Since no one says anything about desert, I made a chocolate fudge cake with coconut pecan frosting. My new year is off to a yummy start. | ||

I went to work Friday, and surprise! No one showed up in my building - just like I had tried to tell the boss... who assured me they were working. I went to the main office area and 8 people (out of 50) had come in, but all left early. So I stayed for an hour, then left. Now I can be smug the next time I see my boss. After all of these years, when is he going to listen to my experience? I won't hold my breath. ~ | ||
