My intention was to just pop in have a little read of some blogs and then leave quietly for the night (or morning since it's now 6am here) but like I said I just could not do it......



Hello 2008! I hope it is a great one for all of you...

Well Christmas day was an absolute blast, the kids didn't get up till about 9am so a long lie was well appreciated since we went out the night before and had a bit of a drink (and guess who won 5 and a half bottles in the raffle??? heeheeeee meeeeeeeeeee!!!)

Anyway they loved all their prezzies so that kinda made all the stress beforehand well worth it. We stayed at my mum's, and she is a "just let me get on with my thing" kinda person - so we all had a really relaxed day after the prezzies untill dinner time. I gotta say that she excelled herself as usual - turkey (cooked to absolute perfection), potatoes roasted in goose fat (mmmmmmmmmmmmmm), stuffing, sausage meat, chipolatas, bacon, potato croquetes, chestnuts, brussel sprouts (ok....yeukkkkk!!), carrots, bread sauce, gravy and cranberry sauce. Then after the mince pies and christmas pud the best course of all - the cheese board, crackers and port. OMG...I have to say mum....You are the BEST!!

I have already booked my seat for next year!

And to amaze me even more! The kids dad actual played quite an active role in their Christmas this year, he spent time with them both before and after Christmas day and even my youngest was quite impressed with his effort this year.......and that really is saying something.

I thought I should drop in for a bit to wish everybody a very Merry Christmas and a Great New Year since I ain't been around too much lately! I just don't know what is happening to my time right now - I might start a petition for more hours in the day I think.

Anyway I hope all my friends here the very best and hope to speak to you all again in the New Year!!

Okay so I kinda chickened out today....lol...Well I have a sick kiddie at home today and John was up all night with her since I didn't hear a thing! The first I knew was at 7am this morning when I heard her crying and John was nearly crying too (since he had been up with her since before 3!! lol)

Soooo, we have put it off till next weekend and I know its gonna be 100x worse so I will try to do as much as possible online this week.

Work has been good lately too, although I seem to spend more time there than at home lately. I have started working towards my next level up...and next pay-raise too, and my area manager thinks I will be doing the course before Christmas, so God knows when I'm gonna manage to fit that in with everything else going on right now!

Well better get off, the little one is making noises again....I forgot how helpless they get when they are ill....lol....for the first little while it makes you really sympathetic to them, but now the OFFS is kicking in.....

I can't believe that it is 9am and I am ready to leave the house and actually have some time to sit and blog! I normally don't do mornings AT ALL!!! but today and tomorrow I gotta be in work early so here I am, and I gotta say that it aint as bad as I thought it would be....(*grins* wait till later when I'm a grumpy git!)

Anyway, I am going to brave the madness of the Christmas shopping wolf packs this weekend, and I am dreading it! I have absolutely no idea what and who I am shopping for and I will probably get to the shops see how packed and manic they are and about turn and try doing it all online!

I was at my daughter's parent's evening a couple of nights ago. She starts her prelims soon so most of the teachers were discussing the exams and the preparation she should be making. One thing they all had in common was, they were all asking for money for something or other.

FFS!! Whatever happened to a free education for all children of school age, nearly every day of the week I have to give one of them money for something or other that the school needs. I don't wanna sound really mean or tight here, but so far this week I have paid out £70.00 to them to take into school!!

These teachers the other night were asking for money ranging for £1.00 for a copy of some past papers, to £5.00 for a CD with course help on it, to £15.00 for books, and considering I had 9 teachers to see I walked out feeling like I had been skinned alive.

/me walks away shaking head....

Oohhh well, we were really unluckly last night! I really thought our guys were gonna do it and keep up the run of amazing play they have had lately, but it wasn't to be!

Anyway, today I have been up to my elbows in soapy water cleaning and scrubbing this house from top to botton, although I dont know why I bother because I know that in a couple of days it will be back to the way it was again!!

I did get some good news last night. My mate got me and her tickets to go and see Travis on the 30 December, so now I have something to look forward to for after Christmas is over....yay!!

It has become a bit of a tradition for us to go and see them together, I think its about 15 times each we have saw them. We always get right to the very front and shout and scream at Dougie, doing his little "Dougie Dance", in fact I think he puts it on even more for us now! It really is the cutest thing in the world to watch.

I got some great pics last time we saw them at an Up Close + Personal gig they did, with only a couple of hundred folk there and we got to ask them questions and chat to them!!

Anyways, I'd better run....I have a yukky oven shouting out for me to clean it!

We were robbed!! That was never a free kick!!

Feeling much better today, but that could be because it's Friday and I don't have to work for 4 whole days after today. Although the house looks like it has been hit by several bombs in succession so I know what my time off will be filled with.

Woke up this morning to no electricity which was a bit of a pain in the ass, but at least it's back on now. It is funny when you have no electricity and you walk about and keep forgetting, like trying to put lights on, or think I will just have a cuppa and try putting the kettle on...or getting up to go to the comp....then you remember and go...DOOHHHH!!

I gotta go into Edinburgh at some point this weekend, I bought a new TV so I gotta go pick it up, maybe I will go and do some shopping while I'm at it, but maybe not. The Scotland - Italy game is on Saturday so maybe I will just go to the pub and watch that instead.
