If it's like my workplace, it's only a no no if the female in question doesn't like the guy saying it. Then it's harassment. If she likes him, it's a compliment.
I'm aware of that twl. I'm also of the opinion that it's carried to far at times and much is made of nothing. The comment you got is obviously over the line anywhere.
A friend at work was recently "talked too" by management because he told a female coworker that she looked nice. She hates this guy (long story and not his fault) and made a big deal out of nothing.
Even if it did come from a fellow officer who wasn't a friend, I know the difference between a silly compliment & someone who would say something gross or out of line.
I know you don't twl. She's pissy with him because he'd dating someone she hates. He didn't even know it was an issue until she complained. My opinion, she should have been reprimanded.
