Laid-back, easy going guy until my passions are aroused. I've been here 3 other times... I keep trying to get it right, I guess. lol

I believe I heard a sigh of relief from all directions that I didn't win the Lottery drawing Saturday night. The Revolution will have to wait until it can be properly funded. ~

I have been watching reruns of the old Rowan & Martin's Laugh In t.v. show. I can remember my parents and all of their friends from church thought the show was immoral, so their kids couldn't watch it. But kids (like me) found a way. lol The jokes were corny, but everyone dressed in the hip style of the late 1960s. For a teenager, it was hot to watch a VERY young Goldie Hawn dancing in a bikini. A lot of big stars did one liners on the show, including the Duke - John Wayne. Even Richard Nixon was on the show. And the biggest religious name of that time was on there, too... Dr. Billy Graham. It's a treat for me to go back in time once more. ~

I stopped in to Walmart Monday on my way home to pick up a couple of things I had forgotten to buy Saturday. When I got to the checkout, there was only one person in front of me - a small frail-looking senior lady. She was in a panic because her small order had been rung up and she couldn't find her money. After her third attempt of going through all of her pockets and little billfold, I quietly told the cashier I would pay for her groceries. It came to about $20.00 When the woman had realized I had paid for her, she gave me a hug and began to cry. I comforted her and told her it was alright. As I paid for both bills, I smiled. It felt good to help a total stranger. I felt good about myself. I was happy to help - and it only cost me $20.00. ~

Every generation in my country has had a traumatic event: for my parents it was Pearl Harbor. For me it was the Cuban Missile Crisis and the assassinations of the Kennedy's, MLK and Malcolm X. In the '80s it was AIDS. 20 years later came 9-11 and 20 more we had Covid-19. We must not forget. ~

People have theorized that our lives are nothing more than the dreams of a higher intelligence. Although I've had a fairly interesting life, I doubt if it's worthy of any kind of fantastic dream fodder. ~

Our latest 90 degree week is over and temperatures are returning to the 70s. It is rather nice to sleep though the cool night and not have to awaken in the morning covered with sweat when the sun comes up. ~
