On my morning walks, I've noticed a house in my neighborhood that's been decorated for Halloween... since the first of September. That coincides with Walmart, which thinks we should shop for Christmas, while dressing for Halloween and eating our Thanksgiving dinner. ~ | ||

Two of my frequent dreams are: Being in a shopping mall and driving a 1964 Chevrolet Impala SS. Our local mall opened in 1970 and I worked in three different stores over five years (1970-1975). I bought the '64 Impala from my dad in '72 and drove it until I wrecked it in '76. I sometimes wonder, after waking from one of these dreams, if I'm wanting to go back to those times when I was 18 to 24 years old. Or if they are symbolic of something deeper. Maybe I'll figure it out someday. Maybe I won't. It doesn't matter... they are pleasant dreams, not nightmares. ~ | ||

Every day I hear someone talk about how terrible the world is now. The world has always been full of bad things and people. What makes the world seem worse is the amount of coverage it gets. The only advice I can give is to turn off the news and focus on what immediately surrounds you. The acts of peace and kindness you share today can pay forward with others to make everyone's life better for tomorrow. ~ | ||
