I was supposed to have Good Friday off from work. I was informed that because around 15 people are working in 2 out of 3 buildings (none in my building) of the 270 plus employees, I have to come in. The last time this happened (ironically on Good Friday), I was in and out in under 1 hour. A waste of both my time and the bosses time. Another reason (of many) why, when I decide to retire this year I will not be giving notice. I just won't show up... and not feel one iota bad about it. ~ | ||||||

Kids today (by that I mean anyone under 30) are still kids, they just have different circumstances to deal with. The younger ones that I work with are always telling me how much they wish they'd grown up when I did. I tell them to turn off their phones, disconnect from the 'net and only watch the three major networks and they can have an idea what it was like. The music was the difference. Today, I have a hard time finding out who does a song I like because so many singers and groups sound similar any more. To compare, listen to a song from the '50s through the early '70s and you can tell who the singer/group was. Everyone had a distinct sound. The Beatles led the way, changing their music with every new album and everyone else followed suit. Here's a sample of early Motown: Enjoy my little trek down memory lane. ~ | ||||||
