The last of the college teams I was rooting for (Notre Dame) was eliminated from the NCAA tourney Sunday, so now I won't be watching the rest of it. The high school basketball tourney finals will be this coming Saturday. Even though high school basketball in Indiana was ruined by dividing into a class system (think of the movie 'Hoosiers', which was how it used to be, all schools participating in one tourney, not four), I will still watch the games on t.v. to see who wins the trophies. After Saturday, basketball season will be over for me, since I don't watch professional basketball. The upside for me personally is that Major League baseball starts April 7th. Unlike a lot of people these days who only watch one sport and deride the rest, I still watch all the sports. In season. Take from that what you will. I'm happy.  | ||

It's officially spring today. High of 58 degrees outside. I took half the blankets off the bed and changed my sheets to my lightest flannel. I turned the heat down to 68. I put my long johns away. I'm wearing a jacket outside instead of a winter coat. Yep, it's springtime in the midwest.  | ||

I was born and raised in Indiana. I root for the college teams from Indiana during the NCAA Tournament. Indiana University had an uphill climb. They had to play a game to get INTO the tournament, then fly across the country to play a very good team in Portland with less than a day's rest. It showed. They lost by around 30 points. I tip my hat to those young men for even attempting their journey. ~ | ||
