Laid-back, easy going guy until my passions are aroused. I've been here 3 other times... I keep trying to get it right, I guess. lol

There has always been a bit of a rivalry in my hometown about which side of town is better - the northside or the southside. The debate was really settled years ago. Other than some burger joints and a couple of chain store drugstores, the only other thing going for it now is a community park. When the indoor shopping mall was built here (52 years ago), it was put on the northside, at the end of the major business strip. On the other end is a shopping plaza that has been there for 60 years. Past that is the University of some 20,000 students. The two high schools are on the northside. There was one on the southside, but it merged a few years ago with one of the schools on the northside. Well. I guess it didn't take much to settle that debate, now did it? Northside rules and southside drools. lol ~

I was feeling my usual Monday blues about returning to work. Then I happened to glance to the right of my screen at an add for a porn sight. There is a gorgeous young woman there masturbating. The young lady looks about as disinterested as anyone can be, given what she's doing. Oddly, that made me smile. It also gave me pause to think that if this lovely lady can go about her 'business', even though she appears to be less than enthused about it, then I can go about my business and show up for work today. She made me smile and sometimes just a little smile can bring one out of their funk. Bring it on, Monday. I'm ready. ~

Anyone who knows me personally knows that I am a true blue baseball fan. I played from the time I was in the fourth grade until I was 19. I had a tryout with the White Sox, but didn't make the cut. I hung up my spikes then and changed to cleats to play softball until age 42. I grew up in basketball crazy Indiana. I didn't play basketball in school, mainly because I was too short - I didn't really grow big enough to play until I was nearly graduated. I played scores of pick up games and for local teams in tournaments. I was even recruited by the small college I attended, but by then I smoked and drank to much to (I thought) get in shape to play. I didn't play football in school, even though I wanted to play. The coach didn't think I was big enough physically to play until my senior year and by then I said no, simply because he wouldn't let me play my first three years of high school. Too bad - all of those years playing sandlot or intramural football proved to everyone I had great hands and pretty good moves. Now I watch, either in person or on tv. I'm a dyed in the wool Red Sox fan and watch every game I can. I prefer college over pro in both basketball and football, but still love to watch high school basketball the best. My alma matter has the record for having won the most state championships of any school in the state. I always try to catch as many games in the state tournament as I can. I get a kick out of seeing the raw emotions of the kids battling to be the best. My neices both played basketball and volleyball in high school, but that was in another state. Both of them have children of their own now and as soon as I retire, I plan on visiting and watching the next generation play. Whatever the sport they choose, I'll be their number one fan. I'm keeping the circle going, even if it's from the sidelines. ~
