Thursday, October 11, 2007, 6:46:27 PM- Something wicked this way comes...
Halloween is coming soon and I can't wait. I put out my indoor deco stuff last Friday and had the husband bring out the boxes of the outdoor stuff so I could go thru it and see what I needed to get for this year. The plan is for the graveyard in the front yard with all these votives with candles placed near the headstones to give a very eerie look. My best friend is making some big spider egg sacs to hang from the porch as well. I got some really sinister looking fake ravens that will be perched on the banister and I want to paint some silk roses black with floral paint and put them in the pots that are on the stairwell. Add those things to the usual spooky stuff I put up and it is going to look fantastic. We used to do more of the cute-sy, harvest-y type stuff when our son was much younger but now that he is getting older the themes are getting spookier. I am so in the mood for it, I can't wait! I now have the total urge to go bake some pumpkin bread and banana bread. The house smells so good when I bake pumpkin bread...mmmmmm Puurrs to all, Currently listening to: Peter Murphy "Cuts You Up"

Tuesday, October 9, 2007, 7:20:48 PM- ....a case of the "Mondays"
Ack. So glad Monday is history. It was just one of those days that makes you want to hide under the bed until it is over. First thing in the morning: Flat tire in the driveway. I must have picked up a rather large nail on Friday as my right rear tire was flat as a pancake. Of course my husband had already left for work and I was running late to get my son across town for school. I called my mom and she came and got us - Mommy to the rescue!!! and we made it right before the bell rang. Hubby had come home in the meantime and filled the tire up so I cold take it to the service station for repair. If it wouldn't hold air I would have to call AAA to come change it to the spare. My mom and I go work out since we were already out and about and it seemed that every machine I wanted to use was used previously by that really really sweaty person one sees at the gym; the one who is working so hard and sweating so profusely that it is literally running off them in buckets. Of course they carry a towel, but they never swab themselves down nor the machines after use. It was disgusting. The dude would leave a puddle - yes a puddle of sweat on the weight machines after he was on them. I don't know if he was just trying to be an attention whore: "Look at me, see how hard I am working! I am sweating and grunting and groaning..." or if he was just that thoughtless. It was nasty. So I pretty much ditched my regular workout and prayed the cleaning staff had plenty of disinfectant. It was grooooosssss!! Then we went to Starbucks. I was really wanting a pumpkin spice latte so we go thru the drivethru and order. I repeat the order 3 times and when I roll up to the window and pay and we get our drinks and split, about halfway out of the parking lot I take a sip. WRONG COFFEE. JHC. They fucked up my order...Meh. I drank it though, dammit. I was not about to go back there and bitch about it, I didn't have time. Had to get home so I could call AAA to come change my tire as I figured it wouldn't have held any air. I got home and found the tire had kept enough air to get me to the nearest service station, so I drove very carefully over to it. There I spent a good 15 minutes trying to explain to the little old Vietnamese lady what exactly I needed. She spoke not a lick of English but yes, no, okay and credit card. I resorted to what seemed like a cross between charades and pictionary to get her to understand what I needed. It was ridiculous. All I could think of was where was the hidden cameras? Is Ashton Kutcher gonna jump out of that oil drum and shout "Dude! You are SO punked!!!" It was one of those feelings lol. Finally she got it and yelled something to someone in the back room and a rather surly looking young man came out and looked at my tire. All he said to me was "$10" I said "ok" and handed him my keys. He futzed around and did whatever to it while the little old lady yelled at him in Vietnamese the whole time. She took turns between yelling at the grandson (I can only assume it was like that) and the person on the cordless phone she had glued to her ear. I should have brought earplugs, jeeeeez. He finished, I paid my $10 and left. I got back home to discover one of the cats had barfed all over the place. Puddles of kitty spew everywhere. Hallway, living room and kitchen. I found the culprit sitting in the midst of my son's lego city that he had set up on the living room floor. Turbo was wedged between the lego gas station and the lego freeway, looking like a giant catzilla destroying a plastic Tokyo. There were little lego people and cars scattered all over the place and he would bat the little lego citizens around with his paws. I knew my kid was going to be so upset when he got home. I ate some lunch (and promptly spilled it all over myself) which required a wardrobe change afterwards. Bummer. And did some cleaning and stuff. We were going out to dinner with friends that evening, an early dinner so that was pretty much the one bright spot to the day. Between the 4 of us we found that all but 1 had also had a shite day, so we laughed about it and had a nice time. So that was my Monday. I am so happy it's Tuesday now lol. Sunday, October 7, 2007, 7:10:18 PM- Sun-daze
It looks like another lazy Sunday. We just got back from a late breakfast and I did a few chores. I will probably do a few more when the spirit moves me - I have studiously been avoiding the mass of laundry that needs doing. I have just been dumping it down the laundry chute. It's like 'out of sight, out of mind' but I will have to do it soon. The weekend has been great, barring a couple of annoyances. Had a great party on Friday. Met some friends for coffee on Saturday and we are having a kick-back Sunday with some beautiful weather thrown in. I feel so nice and relaxed and mellow, I really don't want the weekend to end but you know how that goes. Monday is looming dammit... Saturday, October 6, 2007, 8:09:16 PM-
I didn't get a chance to spend much time online yesterday as we were prepping for a party at our house last night. Had lots of shopping and getting stuff in order for it. I am happy to say that the party was great, everyone had a great time. I am still kind of out of it and tired as we didn't make it to bed till almost 3:00am. I cleaned up the place earlier and now I think maybe I will go watch some tv and lie down for a bit before we have to go pick up our son from his grandparent's where he was spending the night. Thursday, October 4, 2007, 3:46:14 PM- Heeeeere we go!
The first sniffles of the season! My little one woke up with a snuffly nose and scratchy throat. We are about right on schedule in regards to the "New School Year Cooties" that seem to happen every year at the end of September, beginning of October. All the kids in their new classes with their new germs. Soon I will be getting the exposure notices sent home, seems like every 2 weeks or so thru the winter. I don't know how the teachers are not constantly sick being exposed to the seething cauldron of pestilence that is a 3rd grade classroom? They must have immune systems made of steel. So I made him a little bed on the couch with blankies and he is watching Scooby Doo and eating a waffle. I better go check on him, so tata everyone and don't forget to wash your hands and cover your mouth when you cough/sneeze!!! Puurrs to all, Currently listening to: New Order "Perfect Kiss"

Wednesday, October 3, 2007, 3:59:53 PM- Gimme or else!!!
I am in a very demanding mood today. I am horny and ever so slightly pissed off at the world. It is a volatile combo and it may or may not end badly for anyone who will be crossing my path today. I have a very restless feeling; like some animal in a cage that is just pacing back and forth and waiting for feeding time, and I am pretty much looking at anyone I see like a piece of meat. I thought about masturbating to possibly relieve some of the pressure but after fishing about in my toy drawer I couldn't come across one item that seemed satisfying. I shut the drawer and continued to pace. Now I am here on NN (probably a rather large mistake) and updating this thing. Maybe I will take a long shower . Perhaps that will relax me some. I need to calm down as I have to go to the mall shortly and in my present mood I fear for the poor salesclerks who annoy me, I may not be pleasant to be around... ...I did feel better after throwing up I just hated doing it, but I don't feel so crappy anymore and was able to eat a bagel about a couple hours ago - the first thing I have been able to eat all day. Felt a lot more human after a long hot shower as well. Now I am gonna go help my son with his homework Puurrs to all, Currently listening to: The hum of my hard drive
